People behind the "NTV wave"

Every radio and television production must go through many stages of production before reaching the public. The audience usually only knows the authors as presenters or reporters working on the scene.

But the success of each radio and television production has a significant contribution from a group that never appears before the public, never appears on screen, and never leaves a name or voice. That is the technicians (KTV) who create and transmit the broadcast. They are the people who work tirelessly and silently behind the "NTV waves" every day, every hour.

Picture Arrangers at NTV

If reporters are like people who go to the market and buy ingredients, the work of KTV is like that of chefs who prepare and decorate dishes. From raw images and sounds at the scene, through the hands of KTVs, they will become vivid and attractive films. When you watch a 30-minute TV show, the technical department may have to spend 2 or 3 days on post-production, or to have a 45-second introduction to the program, it may take 6-8 hours to complete.

The tables are set up next to each other, many TV screens, control tables with countless small and large buttons, the sound of the announcer reading, the sound of clicking operations and the sound of exchanging and laughing - that is the space of the news production area of Ninh Thuan Newspaper and Radio and Television Station (PTTH). Currently, on NTV, there are 5 TV news bulletins. Of which, the 7:45 pm news bulletin is the most stressful, the technical factor plays a particularly important role. They work hard together with the director, the MC, and the secretary to ensure that the program is broadcast on time, without errors. Engineer Hang Le Thanh shared: Every job has its own difficulties, and this job is no exception. On days when I work directly and come home late, my husband and children always encourage me and sympathize, sharing with me is truly a blessing.

Engineer Thuy Trinh, Deputy Head of the Technical and Technology Department, confided: The television profession has countless memorable memories. Especially, with big programs that require mobilizing color vehicles to the scene, our Technical and Technology Department has to divide up many tasks from setting up to preparing radios, machines, and equipment. Few people know that behind the "NTV waves" are the silent and patient work of an entire team like that.

Nowadays, image editing is not simply rearranging images but also combining them with sound and special effects to create a logically ordered sequence, ensuring aesthetics, contributing to conveying content in the most realistic and vivid way. If each journalistic work is the artistic creation of a journalist, then engineering is a “semi-artistic” profession.

Stay awake to "watch" the waves

If the program production staff are at the final stage of the process of creating journalistic works, the broadcasting staff are the final stage of bringing those works to the public. Currently, the broadcasting staff of Ninh Thuan Newspaper and Radio and Television Station has 9 staff. Due to the nature of the work, the broadcast staff must work in shifts. Each shift lasts 12 hours. In particular, during holidays and Tet, they must strictly follow the shift. In more than 33 years of NTV broadcasting, very few years have the broadcasting staff reunited with their families to celebrate spring and Tet. Engineer Nguyen Thai Huy said: While everyone is warmly gathering together on New Year's Eve, at that time we still have to work to maintain the continuous broadcast to serve the cultural enjoyment needs of everyone. Although the work is not hard, it requires a great sense of responsibility and love for the profession.

I would like to thank those behind the waves of Ninh Thuan Newspaper and Radio and Television Station. From the technical staff to the broadcasting staff, each person's work is quiet but extremely important and meaningful. No one else but they are the chain, the final link that brings the programs of Ninh Thuan Newspaper and Radio and Television Station to audiences and listeners near and far.
