During the fierce war years, many photographers did not hesitate to take risks, even risking their lives, to infiltrate the resistance zones, staying close to the battlefields to record the authentic moments of the revolutionary struggle. Their photos not only served to promote the spirit of the struggle, but also became historical witnesses and valuable documents for future generations.
Entering the period of innovation and development, photographers continue to accompany the local press, recording the daily changes of their homeland, vividly reflecting social life, building a dynamic and affectionate image of Ben Tre . Press photo works do not only stop at illustrating information, but also carry deep thoughts and emotions, helping to spread humanistic messages, contributing to shaping aesthetics and cultural values in newspapers, especially in spring special issues, special issues celebrating major holidays of the country, of the province or in the beautiful photo corner section of Dong Khoi Electronic Newspaper.
With their love for the profession and their attachment to the land of Dong Khoi, the collaborating photographers have been contributing to enriching the content and appearance of the province's revolutionary press. Dong Khoi Newspaper's art designer Le Ly Phuong Uyen said: The enthusiastic and responsible collaboration of the photographers of the Nguyen Dinh Chieu Literature and Arts Association, such as Thanh Vu, Nguyen Hai, Ho Ngon, Trung Hieu, Nguyen Dua... over the past time has contributed to making the pages of Dong Khoi Newspaper more vivid, authentic and emotional. Each photo they bring is not only a moment recording reality, but also the heart, the companionship of those who love their profession and their homeland. Through their lenses, countless everyday stories suddenly become moving, countless events are reproduced sharply and deeply. With a serious working spirit, acumen in each click of the camera and the ability to capture the soul of the event, they not only provide vivid and timely visual materials but also contribute to conveying journalistic messages in a truthful and profound way.
Meeting photographer Nguyen Dua on the occasion of his receiving the A prize in the Contest for Composing and Promoting Literary, Artistic and Journalistic Works on the theme "Studying and Following Ho Chi Minh's Thought, Morality and Style" for the period 2021 - 2025 organized by the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee, with the work "Checking the Height of Children", the joy was still intact on his face. His work "Taking Care of Children's Health in Remote Areas" also won the B prize in the Contest for Composing and Promoting Literary, Artistic and Journalistic Works on the same theme (phase II, period 2021 - 2025) organized by the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee. This is an unforgettable memory, a mark in his creative process, especially in the month when the press team celebrates the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025).
Photographer Nguyen Dua said: “I have been collaborating with Dong Khoi Newspaper for nearly 20 years. Every time I see an image published in any position in the newspaper, I feel happy and honored to contribute a small part with the Editorial Board to successfully complete the assigned tasks. Currently, besides the printed newspaper, there is an electronic newspaper, with a rich and diverse range of news, articles, and images. I myself have traveled to many places to compose, but I especially like to compose in my home province to have quality works to collaborate with Dong Khoi Newspaper. Recently, I participated in making a photo collection about my beloved hometown Dong Khoi. I will try my best to submit it to Dong Khoi Newspaper, contributing to spreading the beautiful images of Ben Tre land and people. I would like to sincerely thank the Editorial Board, the reporters and reporters for being so enthusiastic and cheerful with collaborators like us.”
Although it has been 38 years since the first time he collaborated with Dong Khoi Newspaper (in 1987), the emotions in the heart of photographer Nguyen Hai are still intact. He said that at that time, he felt an indescribable joy. Later, although the images were actively sent for collaboration, sometimes ordered by the Editorial Board, when they were published, he was honored because he had contributed with his colleagues to bring a more complete message to readers. Because according to him, in addition to words, illustrations play an important role in news and reportage. Currently, in addition to printed newspapers, there is also Dong Khoi Newspaper online, the demand for quality images is even higher, so artists invest more to have many beautiful photos sent to the editorial office.
“When working with the Dong Khoi Newspaper team to create the spring newspaper covers, I always collaborated with enthusiasm. The finished product is the joy of the group and I feel good when someone compliments it. Many columns in the newspaper have suggested topics for me to create, encouraging my passion for art, so that I can put my enthusiasm into each click, completing the work. Thank you Dong Khoi Newspaper for being a bridge to bring our photo works to a large number of readers in the past. The works introduced in the newspaper are a great gift for me, helping me have the motivation to improve more, raise my stature, and the artistic work of the photographer is always burning with passion”, Mr. Nguyen Hai shared.
The photos taken by photographers not only reflect the flow of current events but also record humanistic slices of social life, creating a unique mark for each issue, especially special publications, the Dong Khoi Spring special issue. That is also the unique mark that photographers have left on their passionate and creative journey of journalism. |
