The first turbine is on display at the factory grounds.

This is the first hydroelectric plant in Vietnam, with typical stone architecture of the southwest of France and typical factory architecture of the early 20th century. Initially, Ankroet hydroelectric plant was designed with two generators, capacity of 600 kW; water reservoir capacity of about 1.3 million m3.

Ankroet is recognized by the Vietnam Book of Records Center as the first hydroelectric plant in Vietnam.

What is special is that the entire factory, the dam and two interconnected dams were built with locally quarried bluestone by the Vietnamese people. In 2004, Vietnam Electricity Group increased the capacity to 4,400 kW. To date, after 80 years, Ankroet Hydropower Plant still retains its characteristic beauty and operates safely and effectively ■
