Artist Vu Thuy Linh combines folk songs with symphony music

(Dan Tri) - "Tỏ đồng Thánh Thọt" is a music project by young artist Vu Thuy Linh, combining original folk songs with a symphony orchestra, bringing the nation's intangible cultural heritage closer to the public.

On December 9, Music Director Luu Quang Minh and artist Vu Thuy Linh introduced to the audience the album "Tơ đồng Thánh Thột" , expressing 4 musical "colors" in this project.

The melody of the stringed string includes four famous Vietnamese folk songs: Lung lieng ( Bac Ninh quan ho), Cong cha ngai me sinh sanh (xam singing), Luyen nam cung (cheo singing), Chau Nam suo Lan (chau van).

In addition, Vu Thuy Linh did not forget to dedicate to young music listeners the song " My Vietnamese Melody" (composed by Tuan Cry) with a cheerful, vibrant and youthful melody.

Appearing for the first time in the Pho Concert program, Vu Thuy Linh was highly appreciated by experts for her clear, emotional voice and new, modern chamber singing style.

From then on, Vu Thuy Linh determined to carry out the project "Tỏ đồng Thánh Thột" as the official music product for this "debut".

The youthfulness in Vu Thuy Linh's voice, combined with the classical and modern arrangements of musician Luu Quang Minh, has made familiar folk songs new and youthful.

Vu Thuy Linh does not sing with a strong folk color like singers who specialize in singing folk songs, nor does she show her chamber music color as clearly as in her usual singing style.

Musician Luu Quang Minh has shown favoritism to Vu Thuy Linh when participating in this project. He said: "Linh is a special case, a singer who graduated from music education, but also studied economics . She is very conscious of cultivating knowledge in many fields, something that few singers can do."

Sharing about the project "Tỏ đồng Thánh Thột", Luu Quang Minh said that from the time of the idea to completion, it only took 3 months. During that time, Thuy Linh went to the homes of veteran artists to learn singing such as: People's Artist Thanh Ngoan (teaching Cheo singing), or traveled from Hanoi to Bac Ninh 3 times/week to learn Quan Ho singing taught by People's Artist Thuy Huong...

"All the songs were the first time Linh had approached and learned from the most basic things. However, within just 3 months, she had mastered the singing style and ancient rhythms of folk songs. This is something I really admire about this young singer," musician Luu Quang Minh affirmed.

After To Dong Thanh Thot , Vu Thuy Linh will participate in the Ho Zo program at the International Music Festival (HCMC).

Vu Thuy Linh (born in 1999), graduated from the Faculty of Music Education (Military University of Culture and Arts). Currently, she is studying for a master's degree in Music Teaching Theory and Methods at the Central University of Art Education.

In addition, she is studying for a second degree in Business Administration at the National Economics University.
