Prevent throwing soil, rocks, and dirt onto ships

Today, June 10, Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Tien confirmed that he has just assigned the Provincial Police to direct relevant functional forces to increase patrols, control, and implement professional measures to detect subjects and promptly prevent acts of throwing rocks and soil onto trains; remind and handle violations according to the provisions of law.

The provincial police also preside over and coordinate with local authorities where railways pass through and local railway management units to strengthen propaganda, disseminate knowledge, awareness and sense of law compliance, the harms and consequences of throwing rocks and soil onto trains in the community so that people know and comply with regulations to ensure order and safety of railway traffic; focusing on propaganda for young people in the area.

The People's Committees of districts, towns and cities where railways pass through shall closely coordinate with the police force, railway inspectors and railway management and exploitation units to increase patrols and controls; combine with propaganda andeducation for people living along the railway to strictly comply with the law on railway traffic safety and order; at the same time, organize the signing of commitments not to throw soil, rocks and dirty substances onto trains; organize radio broadcasts on media to propagate the prohibition of violations (throwing soil, rocks and dirty substances onto trains) and strictly handle violations according to the law.

According to the National Traffic Safety Committee, in the first 4 months of 2025, violations of the law on railway traffic safety and order, including throwing soil, rocks, and dirt onto trains on railway lines, have occurred continuously, with an increasing trend and very complicated developments, directly threatening train safety.

These acts have caused a lot of property damage to the railway industry, affecting the psychology of passengers and railway staff working on trains.

Specifically, from January 1, 2025 to May 12, 2025, there were 57 cases of throwing soil and rocks at trains in Khanh Hoa province with 13 cases; Dong Nai with 6 cases; Quang Binh, Hue City and Ninh Thuan each with 5 cases; Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh each with 3 cases; Thanh Hoa, Quang Nam, Phu Yen, Lao Cai each with 2 cases; Ninh Binh, Quang Tri, Yen Bai, Vinh Phuc, Binh Thuan, Hanoi , Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City each with 1 case.
