In the 2020 - 2025 term, agriculture plays a pivotal role in the economic structure of Van Duc commune, with an average production value of more than 130 million VND/ha/year; average income per capita increases from 52 million VND (in 2020) to 64 million VND (in 2025).
The new rural construction program has achieved many positive results, production and transportation infrastructure has been invested synchronously, creating favorable conditions for rural economic development.
Implementing the Agricultural Restructuring Project for the 2021 - 2025 period, the commune has converted 278 hectares of ineffective land into high-value crops such as green-skin pomelo, pepper, coconut, durian, etc.
Many models have shown clear results, such as black pepper products recognized as 3-star OCOP; 7.2 hectares of green-skinned grapefruit of 8 households meeting VietGAP standards; 10 hectares of green coconuts with growing area codes granted to 74 households. Some households combine fruit tree planting with hillside chicken farming, making use of land and increasing income.

At the same time, focusing on post-harvest and consumption, An Tin Agricultural Cooperative has connected agricultural product consumption for members with businesses and supermarket systems, helping to stabilize selling prices. VietGAP and organic production models have been replicated, enhancing product competitiveness.
Livestock farming has shifted towards concentration and biosafety. The whole commune currently has 7 industrial farms and 650 households applying microbial products to treat the environment, participating in the supply chain of disease-free pork. Forestry is sustainably managed, with production value in 2025 reaching more than 42 billion VND, an increase of 1.46 times compared to 2020; forest cover remains at 60.6%.
This is the foundation for the commune to aim to achieve new rural standards by 2028; form concentrated commodity production areas, and develop effective and sustainable agriculture.
In the 2025 - 2030 term, Van Duc continues to identify agriculture as an economic pillar, with the goal that by 2030, the value of products obtained per hectare of cultivated land will reach 130 million VND.
The commune expanded the area of key fruit trees (green-skinned grapefruit, pepper, coconut, durian); formed concentrated raw material areas, produced according to VietGAP and organic processes; stabilized the rice area at 1,653 hectares, with an average yield of 7.3 tons/hectare; developed high-quality seed production fields to proactively source seeds.
Livestock farming strives to account for 70% of agricultural production value, developing towards farms, bio-safety, combining hill garden and forest garden economy. Forestry continues to be protected and exploited reasonably; each year, more than 500 hectares of forest are newly planted after exploitation, maintaining a coverage of 60.63%.
The commune also focuses on strengthening consumption connections, promoting the role of cooperatives and enterprises in the agricultural value chain. Cooperatives are supported to improve management capacity, expand markets, develop OCOP products, and bring local agricultural products to e-commerce platforms.
Secretary of the Van Duc Commune Party Committee Nguyen Xuan Phong affirmed: “In the new term, we are determined to continue developing concentrated commodity agriculture, applying high technology, associated with processing and consuming products. The goal is to both increase farmers’ income and build sustainable agriculture that adapts well to climate change.”
