Improve legal awareness for workers

Dong Nai is a province with a large concentration of workers, so the work of propagating and disseminating policies and laws among workers is increasingly important. This is not only a regular task of trade unions at all levels, but also one of the key solutions to build a strong working class, meeting the requirements in the integration period.

Social network applications in propaganda

Permanent Vice President of the Provincial Labor Federation Bui Thi Bich Thuy said: In recent years, the provincial Labor Unions at all levels have promoted propaganda and dissemination to raise political and legal awareness for union members and workers. In addition, information orientation, timely correction of distorted perceptions, combating wrong views and actions among workers. The work of implementing and thoroughly grasping the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws through many channels has created positive effects among workers.

In addition to traditional methods, many grassroots trade unions (CĐCS) in enterprises have applied digital technology to bring propaganda content closer to workers. The union's fanpage, Zalo, and TikTok channels have become a bridge, providing timely and accurate information, contributing to orienting public opinion, preventing fake news and toxic news from entering industrial parks and enterprises, and contributing to stabilizing the working mindset of workers.

At Pou Sung Vietnam Co., Ltd. (An Vien Commune, Dong Nai Province), with a workforce of over 3,000 people, in addition to organizing direct propaganda sessions, the Trade Union has set up a Facebook page to convey useful daily information about the company's policies and regimes, activities, and volunteer movements to employees in the fastest and most effective way. In addition, the Trade Union takes advantage of this channel to organize online competitions, raising awareness among workers about the Law on Social Insurance, labor law, traffic safety, etc.

Ms. Le Thi Ha, a factory worker at Pou Sung Vietnam Co., Ltd., said: Due to the nature of her job, she spends most of her time working at the factory, so she rarely participates directly in propaganda sessions. However, since following information on the Trade Union's Facebook page, many useful contents have been posted to help her better understand her rights and obligations, especially in the fields of insurance, wages, and labor safety.

“When we understand the law, we are more confident in our work and know about emulation movements to participate in, improving work efficiency” - Ms. Ha shared.

In many businesses, trade unions apply digital transformation in propaganda for employees.

Mr. Pham Trung Thuyen, Chairman of the Trade Union of Vedan Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Phuoc Thai Commune), said: Promoting propaganda plays an important role in orienting the correct ideological work and compliance with labor laws in the production process of workers. In addition, workers raise awareness to be alert to social evils, "black credit", and ensure security and order.

With the motto of "focusing on the grassroots", Dong Nai Trade Union said: Continue to innovate extensive propaganda work, so that workers increasingly trust in the leadership of the Party, State and local authorities, feel secure in their work, stabilize their lives, and contribute to the socio-economic development of the province.

According to Mr. Pham Trung Thuyen, based on the actual production situation at the enterprise, the Trade Union has adjusted the content and methods of propaganda activities accordingly. In addition to mass propaganda, the Trade Union propagates through bulletin boards and posters installed at the company gate and at the workers' workplace. Along with that, internal radio broadcasts with contents such as: security and order, traffic safety, environmental protection, fire prevention and knowledge of building happy families among workers.

The activities of disseminating laws and life skills organized by the Trade Union are gradually becoming a familiar “spiritual food” for workers. The propaganda sessions help workers understand more deeply about their rights, obligations and how to behave civilly in the working environment. Thanks to that, the violations of regulations and labor safety have significantly decreased, many workers have proactively proposed initiatives to improve techniques and save costs for the company.

Raising worker awareness

According to the Provincial Federation of Labor, from 2018 to now, the unit has coordinated with departments and branches to directly deploy more than 350 training and propaganda classes for over 35,000 workers in enterprises in the area. Along with that, organizing online law competitions, worker meeting programs attracting hundreds of thousands of union members to participate. In particular, from thematic activities, seminars, direct training with convincing content, it has created positive changes in workers.

Ms. Tran Thi Hanh, a worker at Vina Company Limited (Phuoc Tan Ward), shared: “When participating in the propaganda sessions organized by the Union at the factory, with illustrated leaflets, I understand my rights better, especially maternity and sick leave. Now I am confident in discussing with management when there are issues related to labor law.”

From the positive feedback above, it can be seen that the propaganda work of the Trade Union is really entering the lives of workers. The closeness, ease of understanding and suitability to practical needs are the factors that help this activity spread and create long-term effectiveness. However, according to Trade Union officials, for propaganda work to be effective and sustainable, close coordination between the Trade Union, workers and employers is needed.

At the working session with Dong Nai Trade Union to evaluate the propaganda, political, ideological and legal education for workers in July 2025, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Thai Thu Xuong emphasized: After the merger of the province, Dong Nai is a locality with many industrial parks and a large concentration of workers. Therefore, understanding and orienting the ideology of workers is very important, contributing to ensuring local security and order. Trade Unions at all levels in the province need to continue to promote good models and effective methods to promote propaganda for workers.
