Improve the quality and effectiveness of emulation movements among members and farmers.

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - The Provincial Farmers' Association (PPA) has 166 branches with more than 458,400 members in 4,247 branches. In recent years, the associations at all levels have promoted patriotic emulation movements, focusing on the grassroots and members, attracting a large number of farmers to participate, helping members get rich, and actively contributing to the socio-economic development of the province.

Realizing that increasing income and improving living standards are urgent needs of farmers, the association at all levels has promoted propaganda and mobilized members to actively participate in the movement "Farmers compete in good production and business (SXKDG), unite to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably"; organize reviews, honor and replicate typical examples of SXKDG. To support and promote the SXKDG movement, the association at all levels has closely followed the grassroots, grasped the specific production situation of each locality to provide and support capital for members in need and improve knowledge for members who are lacking; at the same time, remove difficulties, propose action plans and appropriate support methods.

Identifying backward production and lack of scientific and technical knowledge as the main causes of slow economic development in mountainous areas, the Farmers' Association has focused on improving production efficiency and income through models such as caring for wet rice with pellet fertilizer, providing guidance on safe biological farming techniques, raising goats, raising large livestock, growing medicinal plants, forestry trees and zoning and protecting forests... With "hand-holding guidance", many farming families have achieved results beyond expectations, with high labor productivity. From the initial models, this approach has been replicated throughout mountainous areas with hundreds of demonstration sites built by the provincial Farmers' Association.

For localities in the delta and coastal areas, HND focuses on acting as a bridge to form joint ventures and production links so that members can access capital sources and agricultural materials, while building specialized production models, aiming at commodity production, ensuring safety and high quality...

In order to support members and farmers, the Farmers' Association at all levels has directly implemented and coordinated with the agricultural, forestry and fishery extension systems, scientists to organize training courses, transfer science - technology, new technology, helping farmers improve productivity, quality and efficiency of production, develop the rural economy... In the first 6 months of 2025 alone, the Association at all levels organized 1,466 training courses on science - technology transfer for more than 163,000 officials, members and farmers to participate. Directed and guided the Association at all levels to build 17 agricultural production models applying high technology and following high technology, associated with building value chains; mobilized 94,691 farming households to commit to producing and trading safe agricultural products and food.

To help farmers feel secure in investing in expanding production scale, the association at all levels has stood up to guarantee and entrust banks for members to borrow with a total outstanding debt of nearly 17,000 billion VND; effectively manage and use 51 billion 580 million VND of the Farmers Support Fund; guarantee the purchase of 14,024 tons of fertilizer with deferred payment, along with dozens of tons of rice seeds, tens of thousands of plants and animals of all kinds worth hundreds of billions of VND. Through this program, poor farmers have significantly reduced the burden of initial investment costs, created a healthy credit environment, and limited usury in rural areas.

Production in a favorable environment with knowledge and capital has helped farmers increase their income per unit area. Every year, the whole province has more than 240,000 households achieving the title of Good Production and Business Farming Families at all levels, over 500,000 households achieving the title of Cultural Farming Families. This force plays an important role in promoting socio-economic development, building new rural areas, civilized urban areas, contributing to ensuring national defense and security in the locality.

In the process of economic development, good producers play an important role in building rural infrastructure and supporting disadvantaged households. They have contributed hundreds of projects such as bridges, culverts, schools and thousands of kilometers of rural roads, with a total value of tens of billions of VND. At the same time, good producers also actively help disadvantaged households to rise up together, creating equal development in the community.

In the first 6 months of 2025, the provincial association at all levels has promoted and mobilized members and farmers to help each other with money, food, goods, plants, and seeds worth over 23 billion VND and tens of thousands of working days; directly supported 954 farming households in difficult circumstances with an amount of 4 billion 128 million VND, helping 873 farming households escape poverty.

To improve the effectiveness of emulation movements, Farmers' Associations at all levels in the province will continue to promote propaganda and spread the movement "Farmers compete in good production and business, unite to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably"; integrate with activities of economic restructuring, production development, income improvement, poverty reduction and social security for members and farmers. The association's activities continue to focus on the grassroots, closely connect with members and farmers, grasp their thoughts and aspirations; combine propaganda and mobilization with support, create resources, help members be more confident in labor and production; at the same time, replicate typical examples, attract a large number of members to participate, contributing to poverty reduction and new rural construction.
