Guo Wenjing (26 years old) is called a "child prodigy beauty" by the Chinese online community. She lives and works in the world 's high-tech center - Silicon Valley - located in California, USA.

Pika, Guo’s startup, raised $135 million last year and is now valued at $470 million. Guo is a “scholar” (a person who studies very well and has outstanding achievements) that has made the Chinese internet community crazy.

The girl from Hangzhou city, Zhejiang province, won a silver medal at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) in 2015. Guo graduated from Harvard University (USA) and has a double bachelor's degree in mathematics and computer science .

During his time at Harvard, Guo interned at some of the world’s top tech companies, including Microsoft and Google. He later pursued a PhD in computer science at Stanford University.

Stanford University and Harvard University ranked 2nd and 4th respectively in the rankings of the world's best universities released by the prestigious education magazine Times Higher Education (UK) this year.

Guo's impressive academic achievements surprised many people, but for her, everything was very simple.

"When I was in high school, I was good at literature and won many awards in literature competitions. At that time, I was not good at math. At one point, I suddenly thought that being good at literature was not cool enough. Math and computer science are considered strong subjects for boys, if I was good at these two subjects, it would be impressive," Guo said, adding that from then on she studied math and computer science in high school.

According to Guo, the fact that she studied at one of the world’s top universities is not something she wants to talk about much. She only cares about whether she has made new progress over time.

"You should never compare yourself with others. The most important thing is that you have surpassed yourself. As long as over time, you have developed better than yourself, that is already something to be proud of," Guo said.

Not only is she beautiful and a good student, Guo also has an impressive family background. Her mother graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA). Her father was the president of a large technology company in China.

The business idea came to Guo by accident. In 2022, she and some classmates attended the Artificial Intelligence Film Festival held in New York City, USA. At that time, Guo was studying for a PhD in computer science at Stanford University. Her group had a film competing at the festival but did not win any awards.

From her own experience, Guo realized that the available tools for producing videos using artificial intelligence were still limited. She and some of her classmates immediately developed better tools.

In April 2023, Guo decided to drop out of his PhD studies at Stanford University to found Pika, a company that provides video production tools using artificial intelligence. After more than a year of establishment, Pika's rapid development has made Guo Wenjing's startup story of particular interest in the country of a billion people.
