Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Associate Professor, Dr. Vo Ngoc Ha, Rector of Tien Giang University, Head of the Organizing Committee of the workshop, said: Agriculture is a key economic sector, playing a particularly important role in the socio-economic development of Dong Thap province in particular and the Mekong Delta region in general. However, Vietnam's agriculture is currently facing many challenges: Climate change, degradation of land and water resources, environmental pollution, ecosystem imbalance, population pressure and increasing demands from domestic and international markets.

Faced with this situation, researching and proposing solutions to: Ensure long-term food security and safety; promote sustainable agricultural models that adapt to climate change; connect scientific research with production practices; orient policies and develop high-quality human resources; develop effective agricultural value chains with high technology content are essential tasks that require the joint efforts of scientists, experts, businesses and managers.

In particular, the workshop was organized in the spirit of "Practical - Effective - Harmonious", aiming to promote close cooperation between stakeholders in the agricultural value chain, from research to production practices and markets.
