According to The Athletic , this is considered a decisive move by the "Red Devils" after the first offer was rejected earlier this month. If this deal is successful, Mbeumo will surpass Andre Onana to become the most expensive African player in the history of Old Trafford.
Bryan Mbeumo is Amorim's top transfer target this summer. After an initial bid failed, United have avoided public scrutiny and instead moved to negotiate quietly with Brentford, aiming to get a deal done before pre-season.

MU determined to recruit Mbeumo. |
New director of football Jason Wilcox and the Old Trafford hierarchy have made it clear that attacking is a pressing issue that needs to be addressed. Manchester United scored just 44 goals in the Premier League last season, the second-lowest tally among the non-relegated sides and far from the ambition of a team desperate to return to the top.
Mbeumo, 25, is known for his pace, technique and versatile finishing. Since joining Brentford for just £5.8m in 2019, he has scored 70 goals in 242 games in all competitions, including 42 in the Premier League in 136 appearances. The Cameroonian star is considered one of the most consistent attackers outside the "Big Six".
Mbeumo's current contract with Brentford expires next summer, although the club have the option to extend it by a further year. However, Brentford know that this summer could be the best time to sell him if they want to make a big profit.
If the deal goes through, Mbeumo will become the second new signing to arrive at Old Trafford in the summer transfer window of 2025, after striker Matheus Cunha, who was signed from Wolves for £62.5 million.
Both deals are clear signs that United are seriously investing in their attack to address their goalscoring woes, which cost them points and form last season.
