The culinary site TasteAtlas voted for the 100 best street foods in the world, and in the top 10 list there is a very popular Vietnamese dish.

The TasteAtlas food rankings are based on reader reviews, using a variety of mechanisms to identify real users and ignore fake reviews. The list of Asia's 100 best street foods has recorded 28,929 reviews. Here are the 10 best street foods in Asia:

1.Guotie

Chinese wok-fried jiaozi, also known as guotie, are northern Chinese dumplings typically filled with minced pork, Chinese cabbage, green onions, ginger, rice wine, and sesame oil. The crispy and soft texture of the dumplings is achieved by a special cooking method; while frying the bottom of the dumpling, a small amount of water is poured into the pan, then covered, allowing the remaining dumpling and filling to steam.


2.Siomay

An Indonesian dish consisting of steamed fish dumplings, eggs, potatoes, cabbage, tofu and bitter melon. After steaming, all the ingredients are placed on a plate, cut into bite-sized pieces and drizzled with a generous amount of spicy peanut sauce. The final highlight of the dish is a little sweet soy sauce with lime juice.

This traditional South Indian flatbread, often sold as a street food, is also popular in Malaysia and Sri Lanka. It is made from oil or ghee, water, refined wheat flour called maida (as opposed to paratha, which is made from regular wheat), and sometimes eggs.


4.Amritsari kulcha

Originating in the northern Indian city of Amritsari, Amritsari kulcha is a flatbread stuffed with potatoes, onions, cottage cheese and spices. The flatbread is often garnished with coriander seeds and red chilli powder. Thin, crispy and spread with ghee, it is a staple in Amritsar, with almost every shop in the city sizzling with kulchas being baked in large tandoor ovens

Ohn no khao swè, which means noodles in coconut milk in Burmese, is a traditional dish that is said to have inspired Thailand's khao sai. The dish consists of boiled egg noodles and pieces of curry chicken covered in a rich chicken and coconut milk broth. The soup is usually thickened with chickpea flour, and comes with a variety of spices and garnishes.


6.Shawarma

Marinated and grilled on a skewer, shawarma is a Middle Eastern meat delicacy that originated during the Ottoman Empire. Its name comes from the Arabic pronunciation of the Turkish word çevirme (literally meaning to rotate), and refers to the rotating skewer used to grill the meat. Shawarma is made from lamb, turkey, chicken, beef, or a combination of different meats, slow-cooked for hours and marinated in their own juices and fat, creating an unrivaled juiciness.

The most common fish used to make this dish is wahoo mackerel, but tuna, mackerel, and even shrimp can also be used.


9.Siu mei

A style of Chinese cuisine, mainly characterized by meat grilled on skewers over an open fire or in a roasting oven. Originating in Guangdong province, this culinary tradition is especially popular in Hong Kong. The word "xiu mei" in Cantonese means "grilled flavor". 10.Sate kambing
