Speaking at the conference, journalist Le Quoc Minh said that we started mentioning artificial intelligence to the press around 2017, at that time at some conferences where we mentioned artificial intelligence (AI), many people said that it was a very distant story, it would take a long time to happen in Vietnam. However, since 2018, Vietnam News Agency Vietnamplus newspaper has applied chatbots. Until now, the use of artificial intelligence has been applied in many areas of life.
Now artificial intelligence is entering a new phase, no longer artificial intelligence as we used to say. Now AI can automatically analyze to capture users, track users and now it has been upgraded a lot. Technology today is a very important ally to create high-quality journalism and even press agencies in small countries will benefit a lot from this, of course there are also many potential risks.
We are currently using AI as a trend, a craze and we mention its benefits a lot but sometimes we only see its advantages and we have not realized the risks it can bring. If asked which field will be prioritized in the next 12 months, almost all press agencies believe that investing in AI is very important, besides data analysis and videos such as Audio Podcasts...
However, only 34% are very optimistic that generative AI will bring them opportunities, while 8% are not optimistic at all. However, 67% of agencies say they are not well prepared to seize the opportunities that AI brings.

Journalist Le Quoc Minh shared: According to a report by the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism, nearly 50% of leading news agencies in 10 countries have now blocked OpenAI from accessing its news sites.
The News Media Alliance, which represents about 2,000 news organizations worldwide, has also developed a set of principles. It requires that the use of AI development must have regulations and laws to protect news organizations.
"For a long time, the press has been the truth, the press reports what people believe, but people do not believe wrong things, lies. However, the scariest thing is that "they do not believe in anything" because they do not know what is right, what is wrong, this is extremely dangerous. "This requires us to act now. Act or die" journalist Le Quoc Minh shared.
Talking about innovations in global media, the Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association said that we made a huge mistake in providing free content on the internet. "This mistake is now irreparable."

Talking about solutions for press agencies in the coming time, journalist Le Quoc Minh said that now we need to promote legal regulations to protect the copyright of the press. Currently, Getty Images has banned OpenAI from using their image library. Because AI takes from millions of their images to create a new image, then we cannot control it.
"Each press agency should find its own segment and strength to create a suitable business model. In general, there is no business model that is right for all press agencies, but if you know how to take advantage of your segment, it will be very effective. The press should return to its original nature, which is to build a direct relationship with readers, to stick with them, to understand who they are in order to provide appropriate content," emphasized journalist Le Quoc Minh.
At the workshop, delegates shared their knowledge and experience, and proposed creative solutions so that the journalism industry can go further in the digital age.
Delegates also shared stories about how technology is impacting journalism, delving into new technology trends and the potential of Artificial Intelligence in the future of journalism and media...
