The opening ceremony of the Pride of Vietnamese History contest took place on the morning of October 17, combined with the discussion "Forever the revolutionary path of youth" to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the birth of hero and martyr Ly Tu Trong held at Doan Ly Tu Trong School (Thu Duc City).
This is the 7th time the contest has taken place, with the hope of creating a playground to contribute to learning about history and national traditions as well as contributing to improving the effectiveness of traditionaleducation for the younger generation through historical lessons of the nation.
The contest aims to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the Party's founding (February 3), the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30) and the 50th anniversary of Saigon - Gia Dinh City officially being named after President Ho Chi Minh (July 2).
The contest is divided into three groups. In which, members of the Youth Union, members of the Youth Union, Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union (Group A), members of the Pioneers, children of the City (Group B); readers of Tuoi Tre Newspaper (Group C) and individuals (independent candidates, TikTokers, YouTubers, KOLs...), associations, groups (youth branches, branches, inter-youth branches, inter-branches, Faculty Youth Union, School Youth Union, associations, independent groups... each group has no more than 3 members) who love to learn about history, have projects on Vietnamese history and want to participate in the contest (Group D).
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the online qualifying round of "History Knowledge" (for candidates in groups A, B, C) will take place on Tuoi Tre Online 's online competition page at: https://tuhaosuviet.tuoitre.vn. This round will be organized in two rounds (each round lasts seven days). Round 1 will be from October 17 to 23, and round 2 will be from October 24 to 30.
At the same time, the qualifying round for group D contestants will be the "Spreading Vietnamese History" writing competition, which will also take place from October 17 to 30. After that, the list of contestants from each group will be announced for the final round, and the final round and award ceremony of the contest is expected to take place on November 23.
The contest revolves around knowledge of Vietnamese history; Party history; history of the Party Committee and Ho Chi Minh City government; life, career, ideology, morality, and style of President Ho Chi Minh; history and revolutionary tradition of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union and youth movement; congresses of the Ho Chi Minh City and national Youth Union; history of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union - Student Association - Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers; tradition of Ho Chi Minh City students; heroic martyrs, revolutionary predecessors, etc.
Along with that is knowledge about historical and cultural sites at the city or national level, red addresses in the city, Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union bases during the resistance war. In addition, you will also learn about traditional Vietnamese culture, the history of formation and development of Ho Chi Minh City, and urban culture along the Saigon River in the city.
Within the framework of the contest, there will also be a talk show "Proud of Vietnamese history - continuing the tradition of patriotism" scheduled to be held in early 2025 towards the 95th anniversary of the Party's founding.
