According to Mr. Tran Ngoc Hung, Business Development Director of MediaTek in Vietnam, 5G development in Vietnam is progressing steadily, with a total of 639.6 MHz of spectrum licensed. By 2025, 4G coverage will reach 99.8%, and 5G coverage will reach 26%. Mobile data usage per connection is expected to increase significantly – from 9.6GB/month in 2024 to 34GB/month in 2030. 5G market share is expected to increase more than 47 times between 2024 and 2030.
