>>> Readers are invited to watch more videos about the evacuation of passengers from an American Airlines plane.
According to Mint, an American Airlines Boeing 737 Max 8 caught fire in the wheel section at Denver International Airport (Colarado, USA) at around 2:45 p.m. on July 26 (local time). Firefighters quickly arrived at the scene.
"All passengers and crew on American Airlines flight AA3023, bound for Miami (Florida), had to evacuate urgently after the incident," the source said.

In an official statement on the matter, American Airlines said: "The aircraft's landing gear failed shortly before takeoff. All passengers and crew were safely deplaned and the aircraft was inspected."
The plane was carrying 173 passengers and crew members at the time. One person was reportedly injured in the incident.
The fire caused all other flights at the airport to be temporarily suspended to allow for rescue operations.
This is the second fire on an American Airlines flight in Denver, after the engine of a Boeing 737 caught fire in March 2025.
