'Mang me di bo' reaches 100 billion revenue despite controversy

On the evening of August 6, the revenue of the movie "Mang me di bo" reached 100 billion VND after more than a week of showing. This is a good achievement despite the controversy over the ending of the movie.

The Vietnamese-Korean co-production film reached the 100 billion VND mark, joining the hundred billion VND film club in Vietnam. Take mother away sold 1.2 million tickets (including early screenings), becoming one of the Vietnamese films with the best opening performance since the beginning of the year.

During its release, the film topped the box office, "overthrowing" the animated film Detective Conan. off the top of the table.

Abandoning mother is still supported

On the occasion of the 100 billion VND milestone, Take mother away released a new poster series that delves into the relationships between the characters in the film, expanding the story that the film has suggested.

This is a movie directed by Mo Hong Jin produced by producer Phan Gia Nhat Linh. Thanks to the Vietnamese crew having a voice and contributing to the creative process, the story has a Vietnamese spirit, more familiar to Vietnamese people.

Not only creating a buzz domestically, the film also attracted attention from the Korean media. Major television stations such as SBS, MBC, KBS... reported on the film, showing interest in the Vietnamese-Korean co-production.

The film features a cast of Hong Dao, Tuan Tran, Juliet Bao Ngoc, Jung Il Woo, Quoc Khanh, Hai Trieu, Lam Vy Da, Vinh Rau...

Take mother away depicts the arduous yet emotional journey of a son caring for his mother with Alzheimer’s. The film conveys a message about the value of family, while also expanding on the aspects of friendship, love and sharing in difficult circumstances.

After the premiere, Take mother away quite popular on social networks thanks to many comments from the audience. There are audiences who sympathize, seeing the stories and feelings of themselves and their loved ones recorded on the screen. There are audiences who are disappointed because the film has not touched them.

Above all, the prevailing opinion about Take mother away related to the ending of the film. Although the ending was emotional, many viewers were not satisfied because the film left the fate of Ji Hwan hanging and did not open the way for reunion for Mrs. Hanh and Ji Hwan.
