Ly Nam De's real name was Ly Bon or Ly Bi, born on October 17, 503. He was a son from Thai Binh village, Long Hung district, Son Tay town, Hanoi today. Since childhood, he was known as an intelligent boy, adopted and educated by a Zen master. Thanks to his literary and martial skills, Ly Bi was soon promoted to be the leader of a region. At one time, he was an official but was very dissatisfied with the cruel and exploitative colonial officials who oppressed and oppressed the people. He resigned and returned to his hometown to recruit soldiers, joined with many other talented heroes and chieftains to revolt against the harsh and brutal colonial government, bringing freedom and peace to the people. In January 544, Ly Nam De ascended the throne, took the reign name Thien Duc and named the country Van Xuan, expressing his wish for the country to be forever stable, peaceful and prosperous, and for the people to be warm, well-off and happy. His great contributions to the nation's history have been recorded in history books and are worshiped and remembered by the people. Van Xuan Commune, Tam Nong District, Phu Tho Province is the only locality with a mausoleum and temple of King Ly Nam De among hundreds of temples worshipping the King across the country.
