According to initial information, in Ban Giang commune, Tam Duong district, there are currently more than 70 flooded houses. Of these, there are 40 households in Doan Ket village, 20 households in Ban Giang and some other villages.

Lai Chau : Heavy rain causes landslides, leaving many people injured and missing
In particular, many houses in Doan Ket village were flooded up to their waists. Mr. Doan Van Nhuong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ban Giang commune, said that it is currently raining heavily and local forces are deploying rescue and relief efforts to help people get to safety.
Furniture and property of people in flooded areas are being moved to other places. Many crop growing areas are also deeply flooded.

In Lai Chau city, many houses and roads are also flooded, such as in Doan Ket, Dong Phong, Tan Phong wards, San Thang commune... Many areas of crops and livestock are also flooded.
Lai Chau City has directed authorities to inspect the stream and drainage systems to clear the flow. Local authorities are on standby to support the people.

Some roads in Lai Chau have had landslides, such as the section from Lai Chau city through Lan Nhi Thang commune, Phong Tho district on National Highway 4D, where sand pits and landslides continue to appear at 3 points from Km22 to Km25+500, currently blocking traffic.

The landslide also blocked the road connecting Lai Chau with the Hanoi -Lao Cai highway at Km 134 in Na Khum village, Ban Hon commune, Tam Duong district. Local authorities and units are coordinating to clear the road.

Provincial Road 133 at km5+200 (Than Thuoc Commune, Tan Uyen District) has a landslide, causing traffic congestion. As of 10:30 this morning, many localities in Lai Chau are still experiencing heavy rain, flood water is rising rapidly in rivers and streams, local authorities advise people to be careful when traveling to ensure safety.
