(Baothanhhoa.vn) - During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh once advised, "Our police force comes from the people, serves the people, and relies on the people to work." Taking to heart his teachings, in the 80-year history of building, fighting and growing, generations of Thanh Hoa police have continued and fostered the noble traditions of "Forgetting oneself for the country, serving the people." Among them, beautiful stories stand out about the image of dedicated police officers, who are present day and night to promptly resolve incidents, ensuring safety and stabilizing people's lives.

Senior Lieutenant Le Van Dung (standing in the middle) trains new soldiers in the unit.

Fighting the "fire enemy"

Despite the scorching heat of summer, Senior Lieutenant Le Van Dung, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team on the river, under Department PC07 ( Thanh Hoa Provincial Police) is still actively training new soldiers in the unit. Quickly wiping the sweat off his face, he said: "Fire Prevention and Rescue is a special job, often facing dangerous situations such as fire, explosion, collapse, suffocation... to save people and property. Therefore, it requires soldiers to have good health, high endurance, plus a spirit of courage and responsibility. Therefore, whether they are veteran soldiers or new soldiers, except when on duty, they must regularly practice at high intensity to improve their combat readiness and ability to handle situations.

Talking about his journey to the profession, Senior Lieutenant Dung could not hide his pride: "I have been in this profession since 2016, having experienced many different positions. Wearing the uniform of the Fire and Rescue Police Force on the river, I always tell myself that I must try my best in my work to bring peace and happiness to the people."

True to his word, throughout all those years of service, regardless of hardship or danger, Senior Lieutenant Dung always tried his best to excellently complete all tasks assigned by his superiors. Whenever he received an order from his commander, he immediately set off. Sometimes, in the scorching sun, he and his teammates rushed into the "sea" of fire to save people and property. On cold winter nights, he had to wade in rivers, streams, and lakes with his teammates to search for victims while their families waited and waited.

“I don’t remember how many fires my teammates and I have put out, nor how many families and their properties I have saved from those fires. I only know that when the fire is put out, when I save a life, I feel like I have fulfilled my mission as a police officer,” Senior Lieutenant Dung confided.

"Stick to the area, grasp the base", wholeheartedly serve the people

Although we had made an appointment in the afternoon, Lieutenant Le Duc Thang, from the police of Nhu Thanh commune, returned to the headquarters in the evening. He and his teammates went to propagate, disseminate, and educate the law to the people in the area. Sharing with us, he said: “In addition to the time handling work at the headquarters, my teammates and I went to each house to propagate, disseminate, and educate the law, as well as to grasp the aspirations of the people, and to grasp the situation in the area.

According to him, "Because of working in mountainous areas with remote and complicated terrain, and also having many ethnic minorities, the police force encountered many difficulties and obstacles in the process of performing their duties. For example, during the period of making electronic chip-embedded citizen identification cards (CCCD) in the area, many people were not proactive in coming to do it, and the roads were difficult to travel, some elderly people were sick, and people with disabilities could not go to the location... However, regardless of the sun or rain, day or night, as long as we had information that there were citizens who had not been issued a chip-embedded CCCD, my colleagues and I would go to their homes to do the necessary procedures, or propagate and mobilize people to come to do the procedures for issuing CCCD, registering, and setting up electronic identification accounts. This has contributed to speeding up the progress of issuing CCCDs in the province and helping citizens to exploit the benefits of chip-embedded CCCDs".

In addition, Mr. Thang also advised on the successful construction of the "Smart Mass Mobilization" model in the movement of the People to protect the security of the Fatherland in Ben Sung town (before the merger). Through the model, a lot of valuable information and documents were provided to the unit to carry out the work of fighting and preventing crimes and law violations, which was highly appreciated by the government and the people. In addition, he himself also closely coordinated with the professional teams of the police of Nhu Thanh commune in mobilizing people to hand over weapons, explosives, support tools and fireworks. Strictly handle violations of the law on traffic order and safety, especially those related to the use of alcohol, beer and prohibited substances while driving.

Like Senior Lieutenant Le Van Dung and Lieutenant Le Duc Thang, thousands of police officers and soldiers in the province are not afraid of difficulties and hardships, every day making every effort to devote themselves to protecting the peace and happiness of the people. That is a clear demonstration of the image of the People's Police officer "Forgetting himself for the Fatherland, serving the people".
