Swimmer Anh Vien sets record for swimming and pulling a canoe at the same time

After completing the necessary procedures and certifications, swimmer Anh Vien and ball juggling athlete Do Kim Phuc were recognized by the Vietnam Record Association for setting a new Vietnamese record, with the combination of rowing and ball juggling over the longest distance.

This special record was achieved by Anh Vien and Do Kim Phuc on May 18 at Coc Cheo beach, Ha Long Bay, a world natural heritage in Quang Ninh province.

In the challenge, Anh Vien swam continuously 1.14km in 30 minutes and 41 seconds, pulling a canoe MS QN-3068 5m long, 1.8m wide (carrying up to 8 people).

On the canoe, Do Kim Phuc performed artistic juggling continuously throughout the journey on the condition that the ball would not fall.

This is the first time Vietnam has witnessed a record combining physical strength and performing arts on the sea, requiring perseverance and smooth coordination.

This event is part of a series of activities to promote and stimulate tourism in Quang Ninh in 2025.

In addition, the event was supervised and certified by representatives from record organizations and local management agencies, such as: Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung - Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province; Dr. Tran Ngoc Tang - former Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Vice President of the Central Vietnam Record Association; Mr. Hoang Thai Tuan Anh - General Secretary of the Indochina Record Organization, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Record Institute.

Swimmer Anh Vien is one of the most outstanding athletes in the history of Vietnamese sports with a huge record of achievements in swimming, such as: 25 SEA Games gold medals, 2 Asiad bronze medals, 1 Youth Olympic gold medal.

Meanwhile, Do Kim Phuc is famous in the freestyle juggling world with achievements such as the 2010 World Creative Championship, the 2013 Asian Championship and the world top 4 in 2023.
