Fairy forest in Cam Lam

It is no coincidence that the cajuput and fern forest in Cam Lam commune is known as the “fairy forest”. The forest became known and famous not long ago and quickly became an attractive destination attracting many tourists to visit and take pictures. Stepping in here is like getting lost in a primeval forest, deep in the vast wilderness with a fresh, pristine, and pure green color.

The forest is less than 30 kilometers from the center of Nha Trang. From Nguyen Tat Thanh Avenue in the direction from Nha Trang to Cam Ranh International Airport, to the intersection of Cam Lam Fishing Village restaurant, turn right about one kilometer and you will see a natural cajuput forest next to a clear lake. The entrance to the forest has been cleared by local people and many tourists have walked along the mysteriously beautiful trails. Ferns climb throughout the cajuput forest, forming towers of lush green leaves. The cajuput trees grow in clusters close together, so the fern towers continue to overlap, forming a forest. Occasionally, there are turns where ferns weave into arches, very interesting. In the forest, there are many cajuput clusters with scorched branches, either bare or curved, printed in a charcoal black color on the young green background of ferns, creating very beautiful and strange frames.

The best time to enter the forest is around 7-8am, when the sun has just risen above the trees, creating a brilliant halo over the cajuput trees, shining rays of light through the fern canopy, casting bright shadows on the moist ground. Sometimes, streams of water meandering through the rotten grass reflect the sunlight from above, creating shimmering patches of light that are breathtakingly beautiful.

We arrived at Cam Lam fairy forest after the previous day's heavy rain. It was already autumn but the sun was still shining. The night dew was still imprinted on the leaves and the raindrops from the previous night still hung on the tips of the fern leaves, sparkling and pristine. The weather was nice, and it was the weekend, so many families and young people came here to take artistic photos. Walking slowly in that lush green garden, each person seemed to be given "a ticket to childhood". There, each person seemed to slow down, enjoy every pure moment, breathe in the fresh air, watch the lush green fern forest, enjoy some coffee brought with them, the aroma of coffee mixed with the scent of the forest was indescribable.

On the way back, passing by a pond as clear as a giant mirror, I suddenly saw clusters of white and red water lilies opening their petals, shining brightly in the autumn sun. I suddenly looked back, telling myself that I would return to the fairy forest many more times, to return to the pure, innocent beauty…
