With the theme “Trends and opportunities in Vietnam”, the workshop revolved around issues on the orientation of developing a green innovation ecosystem in Ho Chi Minh City; global trends in green, sustainable and digital transformation startups; Ho Chi Minh City’s startup support policies in the field of green development…
In the context of the global shift towards green and sustainability, Vietnam has made important commitments such as Net Zero by 2050, green growth strategy and many policies prioritizing innovation.
Currently, Ho Chi Minh City is leading with programs to support green creative startups, encourage digital transformation, apply artificial intelligence (AI) and technological solutions to improve competitiveness.

Ms. Le Thi Be Ba, Deputy Director of Sihub, said that recently, Ho Chi Minh City has issued many policies to support green creative startups such as: tax exemption and reduction, non-refundable financial support, Sandbox mechanism, loan interest support... In 2024 and 2025, Sihub is implementing a program to select and incubate creative and innovative startup projects and businesses in the field of sustainable development, from the idea stage to acceleration according to Resolution 20/2023/NQ-HDND.
According to Ms. Vu Kim Anh, Deputy Director of the Center for Business Research and Enterprise Support (BSA), the world trend is moving towards a circular model, recycling, and reusing waste as raw materials.
In Vietnam, many businesses have applied technology to create unique features for each product, focusing on protecting consumer health, increasing product experience, thereby contributing to promoting a circular economy , reducing plastic waste and environmental pollution.

“Many green startups in Vietnam have been successful, creating livelihoods for ethnic minorities, people with disabilities, and disadvantaged people; projects focus on recycling agricultural by-products, developing products from local resources. In addition, many green startup projects are supported to expand their markets through international networks or call for capital from investment funds…”, Ms. Vu Kim Anh added.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of GC Food Joint Stock Company, believes that resources cannot be wasted, and that things that can no longer be used to serve people can be processed to return them to the cycle. With that viewpoint, Mr. Thu has gradually brought GC Food products to the international level and supported hundreds of farming households to practice agriculture towards green growing areas.
