Ministry of Science and Technology and Bosch Vietnam promote strategic cooperation in the semiconductor field

On September 11, 2025, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology (MOST) Bui Hoang Phuong received and worked with Mr. Andre De Jong, Vice President and General Director of Bosch Vietnam.

The two sides discussed and resolved issues related to the semiconductor industry, thereby opening up many cooperation opportunities in the context of Vietnam's semiconductor industry entering a period of strong development.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Andre De Jong - gave an overview of Bosch's operations in Vietnam. Bosch Vietnam is a member of the Robert Bosch Group (Germany), which began operating in Vietnam in 1994.

Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui Hoang Phuong worked with Mr. Andre De Jong - Vice President, General Director of Bosch Vietnam.

Bosch Vietnam currently has more than 6,000 employees working in various fields and operates a high-tech factory producing auto parts in Long Thanh Industrial Park ( Dong Nai ), 3 software Research and Development (R&D) centers and 1 R&D Center for automotive technology.

In addition, Bosch Vietnam also provides solutions in the fields of industrial technology, building technology, power tools, home appliances, motorcycle and four-wheel vehicle parts. Since 2024, the Company has expanded its cross-border research and service areas such as ESG compliance consulting, logistics optimization, and especially developing a semiconductor chip design team in Hanoi to serve the Group's global projects.

Mr. Andre De Jong expressed his desire to cooperate with the Ministry of Science and Technology in implementing specific mechanisms and policies to develop the semiconductor industry; at the same time, he requested the Ministry of Science and Technology to guide and support the implementation of the Law on Digital Technology Industry, especially policies on the semiconductor industry.

Overview of the event.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui Hoang Phuong acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions of Bosch Vietnam in recent times, and directly answered questions related to the import of equipment for the Company's R&D activities.

The Deputy Minister hopes that Bosch Vietnam will continue to develop a team of semiconductor chip design engineers in Vietnam, focusing on key areas such as: automotive microchips, MEMS sensors, power microchips and integrated semiconductor solutions to serve the Group's key products.

The Deputy Minister also suggested that Bosch strengthen its links with educational institutions, research institutes, and training centers in Vietnam to develop training, retraining, and advanced training programs for semiconductor human resources; at the same time, support scholarships, internships, and research cooperation to form a team of highly qualified experts.

Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong emphasized that Vietnam has a legal corridor and many strong support policies for high-tech development, especially semiconductor chips... Bosch is encouraged to increase investment in the electronics sector in Vietnam, contributing to creating an output market for semiconductor products, improving competitiveness and contributing to the goal of developing the country's digital technology industry./.
