Praising good people and good deeds among Catholics

On September 11, in Hanoi, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee held the 6th National Emulation Congress to commend good people and good deeds among Catholics, period 2020-2025.

Mr. Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front delivered a speech at the congress.

The congress is an opportunity to share good experiences and effective ways of doing things; to honor and promote advanced models; to encourage and motivate Catholics to continue to promote the tradition of solidarity, patriotism, respect for God and existing humanistic values ​​and fine traditions; to be active and exemplary in emulation in labor, production, and building a cultural life, contributing to building an increasingly rich and civilized country, moving forward into a new era.

Over the past 5 years, the emulation movement "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas, live a good life and follow the religion" associated with 8 contents launched by the Central Committee of Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics has achieved more practical results, with profound political, economic , cultural and social significance. The specific actions of Catholic compatriots are vivid proof of the spirit of patriotism and the tradition of solidarity, attachment and companionship with the nation, well implementing the 9 emulation contents launched at the 5th emulation conference, period 2015-2020.

Attending and giving a speech at the Congress, Comrade Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, believed that the patriotic emulation movement among Catholics will continue to develop more strongly and widely, going deeper and deeper, and forming thousands of flowers of good people and good deeds in the colorful flower garden of the Vietnamese people.

Comrade Do Van Chien suggested that the Central Committee of the Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics and Catholics nationwide unite and join hands to maintain independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity; seize opportunities and advantages, overcome all difficulties and challenges, develop the economy quickly and sustainably, make the country rich and strong, make the people happy and improve the material and spiritual life of the people.

On this occasion, comrade Do Van Chien also requested that Party committees at all levels, authorities, the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, and mass organizations coordinate more closely, creating favorable conditions for the patriotic emulation movement among Catholics and the activities of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee to develop more strongly and effectively.

At the congress, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front awarded Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals in recognition of their outstanding achievements in implementing patriotic emulation movements among Catholics in the period 2020 - 2025.
