According to the report of Kieu Phu Commune People's Committee, through the resistance wars of the nation, Kieu Phu Commune has 1,367 people with meritorious services to the revolution, relatives of martyrs; of which, 850 people with meritorious services are receiving monthly allowances. With the attention of Party committees and authorities at all levels, the lives and incomes of people with meritorious services have been increasingly improved. However, up to now, in the area, there are still 51 households of people with meritorious services and relatives with degraded houses that need support to repair and rebuild.
Pursuant to Decision No. 21/2024/QD-TTg dated November 22, 2024 of the Prime Minister on the level of support for new construction or renovation and repair of houses for people with meritorious services to the revolution, relatives of martyrs and the rate of allocation of support capital from the central budget, the rate of counterpart support capital from the local budget for the period 2023-2025, based on the survey, Kieu Phu commune decided to support 51 households of people with meritorious services and relatives of people with meritorious services to build and repair 51 houses.
On July 27, the commune simultaneously organized the groundbreaking ceremony to build and repair 30 houses for people with meritorious services.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony to build a new house for the family of Mr. Nguyen Quang Khai - a resistance war victim infected with toxic chemicals in Ngoc Than village - Vice Chairman of Kieu Phu Commune People's Committee Phan Trung Cuong said: "Building and repairing houses for people with meritorious services and relatives of people with meritorious services to the revolution is not only a responsibility, but also a deep sentiment and gratitude of the Party Committee, government and people of the whole country in general, and Kieu Phu Commune in particular, for the great sacrifices and contributions of heroic martyrs, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers and people with meritorious services".
In order for the project to start smoothly, complete on schedule and achieve high quality, the People's Committee of Kieu Phu commune requires departments, branches, units of the commune and villages to create all conditions and organize guidance for families of meritorious people and relatives of meritorious people to complete procedures and provide funding when the project is completed. Cadres, party members and people in the commune and villages promote the tradition of solidarity, join hands and support and create favorable conditions for the construction and repair of houses for meritorious people to be completed on schedule, striving to complete the construction and repair of 51 houses by October 2025, helping meritorious people and relatives of meritorious people in the area to stabilize their lives.
According to the report of Kieu Phu Commune People's Committee, each household is supported with 100 million VND to build and repair houses, of which Hanoi city supports 60 million VND, Kieu Phu commune calls for social support of 40 million VND.
