Son La The new 35-meter-long Hin Pen Bridge, made of solid concrete, has just been inaugurated, the wish of nearly 3,000 people in Dua Mon commune, Song Ma district.
On March 14, people around the villages in Dua Mon commune gathered at Hin Pen bridge to share the joy of convenient traffic thanks to the new bridge. Mr. Do Anh Dung, Secretary of the Party Committee of Dua Mon commune, said that the new bridge is made of reinforced concrete, serving the travel of 6 villages of the commune, with more than 3,000 people passing through, with a total value of more than 475 million VND. Of which, the Hope Fund and Kusto Home Joint Stock Company sponsored 340 million VND.
Dua Mon Commune is a particularly difficult commune of Song Ma District, 45 km from the district center. From the villages to the commune center, there are mainly dirt roads, crossing many streams. Students have to wade through streams to go to school every day, which is especially dangerous when the rainy season comes.
"The bridge was built spacious, clean, and sturdy to replace the old temporary bridge that was seriously degraded, helping people and students travel conveniently, without having to worry when the rainy season comes. This is a meaningful activity, contributing to the convenience of students going to school and the convenience of people's trade and travel," Mr. Dung shared.
The bridge construction project in Hin Pen village is part of the Dare to Run program - an online race on the vRace platform organized by Kusto Home Joint Stock Company in collaboration with VnExpress newspaper and Hope Fund in September-October 2023. In less than a month of implementation, the race attracted 2,200 participants and achieved the fundraising goal of 200 million VND.
Mr. Sergey Nam - General Director of Kusto Home expressed his impression of the project, because it is especially suitable for the spirit of building the future of Kusto Home. "I also like the idea of sporting activities alongside charity goals, what we aim for is not only a healthy, active lifestyle but also contributing to society, from the smallest actions, thereby spreading the spirit to the community", he said.
Students can comfortably ride their bicycles across the new bridge.
In Song Ma district, the Hope Fund and other partners also sponsored the construction of 7 new schools for preschool and primary school students from 2021. With the bridge construction project, the Hope Fund focuses mainly on the Mekong Delta. After reaching 350 Hope bridges at the end of last year, the project continues to be implemented with the goal of building 80 more works this year. Currently, more than 320 works have been put into use in An Giang, Can Tho, Dong Thap, Ca Mau, Bac Lieu ...
