Seaplane operation from Tuan Chau to Co To island

Information from the People's Committee of Co To District ( Quang Ninh ) said that this locality has just coordinated with Hai Au Aviation Joint Stock Company to conduct a survey of take-off and landing conditions for the flight route from Tuan Chau Island (Ha Long City) to Co To Island District; and flight training for seaplane pilots in Co To District.

The aircraft used to operate the route was manufactured by Cessna Caravan, a subsidiary of Textrol Aviation Group (USA), and is certified as the world's largest single-engine aircraft; and at the same time, the safest single-engine aircraft when landing on water (according to FAA - Federal Aviation Administration and ICAO - International Civil Aviation Organization).

According to Hai Au Aviation Joint Stock Company, Cessna Caravan seaplanes meet standards of stability, fuel efficiency and safety; are capable of flying and landing in many water areas and ground runway areas.

Leaders of Co To District and working delegation of Hai Au Aviation Joint Stock Company surveyed the conditions for opening the seaplane route Tuan Chau - Co To.

Through the survey, Hai Au Aviation Joint Stock Company and Co To District People's Committee agreed to operate a seaplane route from Tuan Chau to Co To to serve tourists in July.

The People's Committee of Co To District informed that in the first 5 months of 2023, this locality welcomed more than 70,000 visitors. In May alone, Co To District welcomed nearly 40,000 visitors; including 1,118 international visitors coming for sightseeing and relaxation.
