The program aims to contribute to ensuring a safe and timely blood source for medical work and spreading the spirit of humanity, connecting millions of hearts to share for the community.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ha Thanh, Director of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, Head of the Organizing Committee of Red Journey 2025, this year's program is expected to be held in many provinces and cities across the country in June and July.

After 12 years, Red Journey has increasingly spread and received positive responses, participating in coordinating and receiving nearly 1 million units of blood. In which, Ho Chi Minh City is one of 5 localities nationwide actively participating. These are vivid proofs of the persistence and strong influence in more than a decade of implementing the mission of "Connecting Vietnamese blood".

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ha Thanh emphasized that Red Journey has become the largest and most effective blood donation campaign, creating a deep impression in the more than 30-year development of the voluntary blood donation movement in our country.

Along with Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City is the leader in the voluntary blood donation movement of the whole country. In 2024, the whole city received nearly 340,000 units of blood, the highest number in the country; the rate of population participating in voluntary blood donation reached 3.57%, ranking second in the country.

At the program, Mr. Tran Truong Son, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross Society, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee, expressed his deep gratitude for the contributions of groups, individuals and families in the voluntary blood donation movement in the area.

"Over the past 30 years, Ho Chi Minh City has received more than 3.5 million units of blood, accounting for nearly 1/5 of the total blood received nationwide. The quantity and quality of each year are always higher than the previous year. The results have contributed to saving patients and preventing blood shortages. In the coming time, the city will continue to promote voluntary blood donation activities, contributing to spreading the movement widely in the community," Mr. Tran Truong Son shared.
On the same day, many blood donation points were simultaneously organized in Ho Chi Minh City, expecting to receive nearly 1,000 units of blood.
