On July 26, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee conducted a survey and inspection of the proposed location of the Ta Cu - Bung Thi - Song Phan Urban, Commercial, Entertainment, Eco- Tourism and Spiritual Complex Project. The project's name alone shows its large scale, involving many places, not just Ham Thuan Nam commune. However, the Ta Cu eco- tourism and spiritual tourism site of the project is also a spiritual tourism area that attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, and is the center or, as the saying goes, the leading bird in the tourism , trade and service sectors of Ham Thuan Nam commune.
In fact, the merger between Ham Minh, a famous dragon fruit production and trading area, an advanced new rural commune with Thuan Nam town, the central urban area of the old Ham Thuan Nam district, into the current Ham Thuan Nam commune is the convergence of strengths of trade and services. And this strength has been initially affirmed through the shift in economic structure over the past 5 years, when agriculture decreased from 70% to 50%, services and trade from unclear to 35%, the remaining 15% belongs to industry - construction.
If you observe, it is easy to see that the trade and services in Ham Thuan Nam commune are very diverse and rich. Not only meeting the smallest needs in the dragon fruit production and trading profession, but also serving all the needs of the people in a place where there are always many opportunities to change income after each crop season, especially there are many people with enough potential to switch from dragon fruit to other plants and animals to "surf" the price with the market.
Therefore, on the streets here, business is bustling and bustling, no different from urban areas. Hundreds of types of service businesses in various fields. Even services related to cultural and spiritual life, which seem to not exist in rural areas, are also having a good "living ground" here, such as teaching singing and dancing for folk groups, teaching yoga... In addition to National Highway 1A, you can see high-rise houses, and going deeper on the fishbone roads from National Highway 1A, there are villas with many beautiful and unique aesthetic architectures.
From here, Ham Thuan Nam commune has gathered a private economic force, which few people thought would happen before. As if the tide had risen, despite the fluctuations that caused many businesses to leave the market, up to now, the commune has about 700 businesses and individual business households.
In addition, the total state budget revenue of the two communes and towns before the merger in the past 5 years was nearly 82.7 billion VND (including targeted subsidies from superiors), reaching 173% of the plan. Notably, with the rapid development of enterprises and individual business households, the local authorities have had to strengthen and enhance the role and responsibility of the Tax Advisory Council and the anti-loss team, reviewing arising cases to manage the department according to regulations.
From the excess budget revenue, plus other social resources, especially from people with high incomes, irrigation works, electricity, schools, medical stations, markets, cultural facilities, and cultural houses in villages were built smoothly and comfortably with a total cost of more than 288 billion VND.
Just waiting for the next "push"
With the above achievements, Ham Thuan Nam commune has started a new journey in the 2025-2030 term more smoothly, besides the geographical location of the commune is also equally favorable. Although it is a mountainous commune, Ham Thuan Nam has National Highway 1A running through it with a length of 11km, DT 712 road with a length of 5.8km, Ham Minh - Thuan Quy road with a length of 9km, along with a system of inner-city roads, commune roads, inter-commune roads, rural roads, and inter-field roads connecting together with each other for hundreds of kilometers, with administrative boundaries adjacent to 3 communes (Tan Lap, Tan Thanh and Ham Kiem).
2 out of 3 communes that Ham Thuan Nam borders are related to a large tourism project that is about to be implemented. That is the Ta Cu - Bung Thi - Song Phan Urban, Commercial, Entertainment, Ecological and Spiritual Tourism Complex Project. According to the initial outline, the "soul" of the above project belongs to Ta Cu spiritual tourism and 3 component projects including golf course construction, residential area... so this is like an additional "boost" in the coming time for Ham Thuan Nam commune to explode in trade and services. That is not to mention the high-speed railway project on the North - South axis through Lam Dong province, including the section through Ham Thuan Nam commune, which is also preparing to open up another development space.
Therefore, the issue of the above projects appearing soon as planned, in the Political Report presented to the 1st Congress which will officially take place on July 28, the Party Executive Committee of Ham Thuan Nam commune identified this as 1 of 3 breakthroughs. The 2 breakthroughs in Party building and rectification, first of all, are building a team of cadres to meet the requirements of the task; in strengthening discipline and raising awareness and responsibility of the team of cadres and civil servants performing public duties is natural and regular. But the breakthrough in mobilizing resources for investment in socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, especially non-budgetary investment resources is urgent. At the same time, it is necessary to carry out well the work of government mass mobilization in compensation, support and resettlement for key local works and projects to ensure construction on schedule; In which, focusing on the remaining projects (handed over by the old Ham Thuan Nam district to the commune) including the above 2 projects and other projects, is even more urgent.
This requires the coordination of the entire political system of the commune in implementing a comprehensive set of solutions. And the first predicted result is the emergence of economic sectors in the area, in which, enterprises and individual business households are expected to be born. Especially in the coming time, Ham Thuan Nam commune continues to deploy the model of volunteer youth guiding people to carry out the steps in the profile at the Commune Public Administration Center with the goal: Not causing trouble for people and businesses. Accordingly, the commune arranges staff with enough knowledge to support, knowing how to best serve people, businesses...
To continue developing the private economy, in the new term, the commune will implement a combination of solutions from creating development space to supporting businesses, aiming to attract more businesses to invest in the commune. At the same time, it also encourages local business households to become enterprises. Specifically, focusing on digital transformation to optimize the process of handling administrative procedures, developing an integrated information portal, providing one-stop online public services, to facilitate businesses in accessing planning and investment information. As for business households, pay attention to creating conditions for them to access credit from capital sources such as women's startups, youth startups... promoting vocational training and digital transformation. Thereby, creating more jobs and increasing income for people.
