Merging the Liaison Committee of Veterans and Military Experts to Help Laos

On the morning of June 26, in Viet Tri city, the Liaison Committee of Vietnamese veterans and military experts assisting the Lao revolution in the three provinces of Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc and Hoa Binh held a conference to unify according to the plan to merge provincial administrative units.

After the merger, the new Liaison Committee has a common name: Liaison Committee of Former Volunteer Soldiers and Vietnamese Military Experts Helping Laos in Phu Tho Province. The Liaison Committee has over 3,000 members, operating in 148 communes and wards. These are former volunteer soldiers and Vietnamese military experts who carried out international missions and fought side by side with the Lao army and people in the revolutionary cause of fighting for national liberation and defending the Fatherland.

The merger is in accordance with the plan to consolidate provincial administrative units so that the activities of the Liaison Committee can run smoothly without interruption, while promptly protecting the interests and encouraging members to promote the tradition of Uncle Ho's soldiers and actively participate in local movements. At the conference, the Liaison Committee approved the minutes, elected the new head and deputy head of the Liaison Committee after the merger; and awarded the Lao State's Medal of Heroism to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements.
