More than 3,600 tanks of clean water to flooded areas in Nghe An

Through the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, international organizations have sent more than 3,600 barrels of clean water to people in the flood-hit area of Nghe An.

On July 29, the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention said that the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment coordinated with the People's Committee of Nghe An province to mobilize international organizations to support people in flooded areas in Nghe An province after storm No. 3 (Wipha).

Specifically, 3,655 cartons of bottled drinking water were delivered to Huu Kiem, Tam Thai and Tuong Duong communes ( Nghe An province) on July 29, places facing serious shortages of clean water due to heavy rain and flash floods.

Subsequent distributions will be rolled out in other areas based on actual needs and damage levels.

Supported organizations include the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and Action for Human Development.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, clean water is a vital factor after natural disasters, directly affecting people's health, daily life and hygiene.

Providing emergency drinking water is one of the top priorities in the initial response phase, to minimize the risk of disease outbreaks and support people to stabilize their lives.
