National conference to deploy tasks to ensure traffic order and safety in 2024

On January 9, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang, Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee (NTSC), chaired a national online conference to review traffic safety work in 2023 and deploy tasks for 2024. Attending at the provincial bridge were representatives of relevant departments, branches and units.

According to the National Traffic Safety Committee, in 2023, there were 22,067 traffic accidents nationwide, killing 11,628 people and injuring 15,292 people. Compared to the same period in 2022, the number of cases decreased by 1,285 cases, the number of deaths decreased by 1,922 people, and the number of injuries increased by 660 people. Regarding traffic jams, there were 130 cases, an increase of 52 cases compared to the same period in 2022. During the year, the authorities patrolled, inspected, and handled 770,374 cases of alcohol concentration violations, contributing significantly to limiting and reducing traffic accidents...

National online conference to summarize traffic safety work in 2023.

In 2024, the Traffic Safety Committee will continue to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of its leadership and direction, first of all, strengthening inspection and supervision of the implementation of Directive No. 23 of the Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership in ensuring traffic safety and order in the new situation, the Government 's resolutions and the Prime Minister 's directives on strengthening the work of ensuring road traffic safety and order in the new situation...

Concluding the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang requested ministries, branches and localities to continue to effectively implement Directive No. 23 of the Secretariat, resolutions of the Government and directives of the Prime Minister on ensuring traffic safety and order and preventing traffic congestion. At the same time, effectively implement the 2024 traffic safety plan with the theme "Respecting the law to build a traffic culture"; coordinate in building and perfecting institutions, mechanisms, legal policies and regulations related to ensuring traffic safety and order immediately after the Road Law and the Traffic Safety and Order Law are passed by the National Assembly. Continue to review and promptly handle black spots and potential traffic accident spots; strengthen effective management of transport business activities. Proactively implement solutions to ensure traffic safety and order during the 2024 Lunar New Year so that people can travel safely and conveniently, minimizing the risk of traffic accidents.
