On the morning of June 3, at Hoa Xuan Athletics Stadium (Cam Le District, Da Nang City), the Athletics competitions took place within the framework of the 13th Southeast Asian Student Sports Festival.

Vietnamese athlete Hoang Thi Ngoc Anh won the Gold Medal in the 3,000m race.

The Athletics competition started with the women's 3,000m race. In the hot weather of nearly 40 degrees Celsius, the female athletes were active, trying to achieve high results, breaking through every second. In the final results, athlete Hoang Thi Ngoc Anh (Vietnam) won the Gold Medal, athlete Chua Hsin-Wen Clara (Singapore) won the Silver Medal, athlete Trieu Thi Binh (Vietnam) won the Bronze Medal.

In the men's long jump event, athlete Conrad Kangli Emery (Singapore) won the Gold Medal, athlete Pham Xuan Tien (Vietnam) won the Silver Medal, and Adam Haqimi Bin Azrail (Malaysia) won the Bronze Medal.

In the women's discus throw event, athlete Trangia Courtney Jewel M (Philippines) won the Gold Medal, athlete Nur Anina Aleefa Binti Zukli (Malaysia) won the Silver Medal, athlete Paphatson Loain (Thailand) won the Bronze Medal.

On the morning of June 3, the athletes completed the finals of the women's 3,000m run, men's long jump, and women's discus throw (1kg). In the afternoon of the same day, the finals of the men's 400m hurdles, women's 400m hurdles, men's and women's 100m run, men's shot put (5kg), men's 800m run, men's 3,000m run, and women's high jump continued to take place.

Athletics events held at Hoa Xuan Athletics Stadium (Cam Le District, Da Nang City) include: 3,000m run; 100m run; 800m run; 400m hurdles; long jump; discus throw (1kg); shot put; high jump.

The 13th Southeast Asian School Sports Festival with the main theme of "Connecting and Shining" took place in Da Nang city. The Games gathered over 1,300 student athletes and coaches from 10 countries in the region: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and host Vietnam. Six sports were included in the competition: Swimming, basketball, badminton, athletics, Pencak Silat and Vovinam, with a total of 107 events, corresponding to 107 sets of medals.
