Hoang Bach, Akira Phan and Huy Khanh shine at pickleball tournament
In the Golden men's doubles 5.5 category of the Newwave Sasa Cup 2025 - Business and Artists pickleball tournament, the pair Nguyen Hiep - Lucky defeated the pair Duc Phu - Vinh An to win the championship, while artists Huy Khanh - Ben John and Akira Phan - Nghi Pham won the bronze medal. In the Silver 5.5 category, director Vu Hong Thang and singer Hoang Bach also received third place. The pair Tai Baby - Hai Dang won the men's doubles 7.0 category.
Singer Hoang Bach said: "For Hoang Bach and Hong Thang, winning this prize was a big surprise. Because this was the first tournament Bach participated in, he just thought it was for fun, winning one match would be satisfying. However, it is true that sports always have surprises. It is also possible that Bach and Thang had a great day of competition, exceeding their abilities, so they got unexpected results.
It must also be said that the organization, the resting place and the court are very good, helping the athletes play all day without getting too tired. Hopefully this will be a regular playground for tennis players from all over to come, combining rest and sightseeing in the beautiful coastal city of Vung Tau!".
