"Contrary to reports in the Indonesian media, we have not received any offers or contracts from the Chinese Football Association," said coach Shin Tae Yong's representative.
The source also revealed that the Korean coach is currently very busy with many different jobs and projects: “Coach Shin is involved in many activities, including the role of vice president at the Korea Football Association and the position of director at Seongnam FC Club”.
However, coach Shin Tae Yong also left open the possibility of negotiation if he receives an official invitation from China.
“There needs to be an offer from China for discussions to take place, but so far there has been no movement in that direction,” the representative stressed.

Previously, the media rumored that coach Shin Tae Yong was one of the leading candidates to replace Mr. Branko Ivankovic, who was fired after the Chinese team's failure in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
In addition to coach Shin, the list of candidates for the position of head coach of the Chinese team also includes other names such as Zheng Zhi and Gao Hongbo.
Zheng Zhi is currently the coach of the Chinese U21 team and was an assistant coach of the national team. Meanwhile, Gao Hongbo is also a former coach of the Chinese national team.
Coach Branko Ivankovic (70 years old) was appointed by CFA in February 2024 to replace his predecessor Aleksandar Janković. His main task is to help the Chinese team qualify for the 2026 World Cup, Asia region.
However, he disappointed when he could not help the billion-people team reach the World Cup dream. At the same time, with the second-to-last place in the group in the third qualifying round and playing with a lack of identity, coach Ivankovic was fired.
Under Ivankovic, the Chinese team only had 4 wins, 2 draws and 8 losses after 14 official matches. He achieved a winning rate of only 28.57%.
