In recent days, the situation of many Facebook groups being locked has caused a stir in the social network community.
Very quickly, Meta (Facebook's parent company) confirmed to the press that this was a technical issue and they were working to fix it.
Although the time this situation occurred until Meta confirmed was not long, it was enough for many opportunists to show their intention to profit and defraud in order to appropriate assets.

Many group pages were locked due to Facebook's technical errors, creating conditions for profiteering and fraud. Screenshot
On the website chongluadao.vn of the Anti-Fraud project led by expert Ngo Minh Hieu (Hieupc), a warning was issued.
In a recent status posted on the project's fanpage as well as his personal page, Ngo Minh Hieu warned owners or administrators of groups to stay calm and not fall into the traps of profiteering and fraudulent elements.
Hieu said that these subjects "posted or commented on the personal pages of group or fanpage admins to offer rescue services."

Further information on this situation, the Anti-Phishing project leader also advised the administrators of these pages to wait for Meta to process, and not to go through the appeal process as this can prolong the processing time. Pages directly managed by Hieu also encountered this situation and have now been restored.
"And especially, you should NOT trust social networking services for help, they will take your money and sometimes they do nothing, and they can scam and appropriate your assets, you will lose money and sometimes even lose your group/fanpage if you hire them to do the service." - Expert Ngo Minh Hieu emphasized.

Anti-fraud also informed that there have been many gullible cases that have spent money to hire these services to protect, secure, restore accounts, groups, fanpages and lost money unjustly.
A person who was tricked and had his property stolen by these people posted: "I was blackmailed for 45 million, otherwise the group will be deleted." Fearing that all his efforts would be in vain, this person said he had transferred the money.
After reading the warning information from Anti-Fraud, this person asked for advice to report to the authorities.

Group and fanpage administrators absolutely must not follow the seduction of bad elements.
In addition, many users have criticized Facebook and its parent company - Meta because incidents like this are unnecessary. The negative impacts of the incident not only damage the digital achievements of many users but also create the premise for many bad guys to take advantage.
The administrator of a group with up to 1 million members said: "The elements that profit from the report-lock-reopen function. Whenever there is any opportunity, they will lure and pressure the administrator to pay money. I myself have encountered this situation, but luckily I always research carefully so I do not fall into the trap."
This administrator also said: "Following cyber security forums, groups with the goal of actively serving the community like Anti-Fraud will help a lot, especially keeping calm in the face of constantly updated scams."
