Delegates attending the workshop.
The report presented at the conference emphasized that climate change has become one of the most serious and urgent challenges facing humanity. In Vietnam, climate change has caused obvious negative impacts such as saltwater intrusion in the Mekong Delta, landslides in mountainous provinces, severe storms and floods in the Central region and prolonged drought in many localities.
Climate change is directly threatening sustainable development goals, affecting efforts to eradicate hunger and reduce poverty, ensure energy security, stabilize agricultural production, maintain biodiversity and protect human health.
Therefore, effectively responding to climate change requires comprehensive and synchronous coordination between science - technology , management policies and public awareness.
Associate Professor, Dr. Luong Thi Kim Phuong presented the introductory report at the conference.
