Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam Ho An Phong, Head of the delegation of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, together with Vietnamese Ambassador to Poland Ha Hoang Hai, Chairman of Śródmieście District (central district of Warsaw) Aleksander Ferens and Chairmen of Vietnamese associations and delegations in Poland attended and cut the ribbon to open the Festival.
Culture is a delicate bridge
This event continues the journey of promoting Vietnamese culture to the international community, especially in this Central European country rich in cultural traditions.
In the middle of Warsaw's Old Town Square - a world cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO in 1980, where time seems to stand still in every paving stone and dark brown roof tiles tinged with history - a colorful oriental space suddenly lights up.
The 3rd Vietnam Cultural Festival, held for the first time in the heart of the Polish capital, is not only an art program but also a lively cultural dialogue between Vietnam and Poland - two countries that are geographically distant, but very close in their humanitarian spirit, desire for freedom and deep love for national identity.
The Old Town Square - which has witnessed many ups and downs in Poland's history, from the August Uprising to the spectacular revival after the world war - now becomes the stage for an art program from Vietnam.
This festival is a continuation of the two previous editions and is also a qualitative development in both scale and cultural depth. This is the first time the festival has been held in the historic center of Warsaw, demonstrating Poland’s respect and openness to Vietnamese cultural values.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Aleksander Ferens, Chairman of Śródmieście District (the central district of Warsaw), expressed his honor that the locality was chosen as the venue for the event: “This is a valuable opportunity for Warsaw residents to experience firsthand the beauty of Vietnamese culture, a country with a rich history and traditions.”
From the perspective of an urban manager, this is a strong affirmation of the role of culture as a delicate and sustainable bridge between different communities.
Vietnamese Community - Connecting the Past and Present
This event is a close collaboration between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam, the Embassy of Vietnam in Poland and the Association of Vietnamese in Poland. These are the three pillars that create a solid foundation for the process of spreading Vietnamese culture among the international community.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Poland Ha Hoang Hai shared emotionally: "The event not only contributes to promoting the image of the beautiful country of Vietnam but also serves as a bridge to foster the friendly and cooperative relationship between the people of Vietnam and Poland."
This is a testament to the long-term vision of Vietnam's cultural diplomacy , making art and national spirit a common language with the world.
In particular, the participation of the Vietnamese community in Poland is not only a symbolic factor, but also a powerful endogenous resource.
They were both spectators and contributors to the organization of the event. Vietnamese hands in foreign lands have “woven a tapestry” of rich, charming and courageous culture.
Spreading Vietnamese beauty in the heart of Europe
The highlight of the festival is the special art program performed by the Vietnam Music, Dance and Singing Theater, in collaboration with artists from the Vietnamese community in Poland.
The profound folk music, graceful contemporary folk dances, and Vietnamese-Polish exchange songs not only stirred up the square, but also touched the hearts of thousands of spectators.
Thousands of participants were Vietnamese expatriates in Poland, local people and international tourists. All joined in the festive atmosphere.
The endless applause is the clearest proof of the soft power of culture: No need for interpretation, no need for introduction, just the sound of the instrument, the dance and the bright eyes of the performer.
A week to explore Vietnam in the heart of Europe
The festival is just the starting point of the Vietnam Culture - Tourism Week in Poland, with a series of diverse activities: From art photo exhibitions, traditional handicraft display spaces, introduction of Vietnamese cuisine, to promotions of tours, new destinations, and unique experience products.
These activities not only remind overseas Vietnamese of their homeland, but also open up new journeys for Polish tourists who want to visit Vietnam, a place with beautiful landscapes, historical depth, cultural differences and friendliness and hospitality.
Poland and Vietnam - two countries that have experienced many historical challenges, now meet again in the space of culture, art, humanity and desire for a bright future.
Invisible bridges built from music, dance, ao dai, conical hats… are extending the journey of friendship, so that after each festival, a new chapter is added to the bilateral relationship.
The 3rd Vietnam Cultural Festival in Poland is an invitation to international friends to Vietnam, where culture is not only heritage, but also life; a place that welcomes hearts searching for sincere beauty to immerse themselves in the "Vietnamese soul" in the middle of Europe.
