Six days after the historic floods, travel on National Highway 7A through Con Cuong, Chau Khe, and Tuong Duong communes is still very difficult. However, with the tradition of solidarity, sharing, and helping each other in times of trouble, people in villages and hamlets that were less flooded volunteered to go on the road, bringing with them dredging tools, washing mud and soil, and cleaning their houses, to help localities that suffered more severe damage.

In Con Cuong commune, on the morning of July 27, groups of people from Chau Khe commune, regardless of the long distance, walked dozens of kilometers with shovels and hoes to Tien Thanh village, Con Cuong commune (formerly Chi Khe commune) - an area that suffered heavy damage from floods.

Ms. Tran Thi Thien in Khe Choang village, Chau Khe commune said that she felt sorry for her fellow countrymen in trouble, so no one was afraid of hardship or suffering, and whenever they had time, they came to help each other.
Also in Tien Thanh village, a heavily flooded area of Con Cuong commune, Lieutenant Colonel Doan Ngoc Hung - Assistant Officer of Regiment 764, along with 54 officers and soldiers, have been actively and urgently helping people clean up their houses for the past 4 days.

In particular, a group of soldiers were assigned to go to the house of Mr. Nguyen Duy Son in Tien Thanh village, Con Cuong commune, a 1/4 disabled veteran, to help his family clean up and gradually stabilize their lives.

Sweat drenched her clothes, Ms. Tran Thi Thao - a police officer of Chau Khe commune said tiredly while trying to push mud out of a resident's gate: "It will probably take another half month to clean up the mud, sir."

In Muong Xen commune, comrade Nguyen Viet Hung - Secretary of the commune Party Committee said that for the past 5 days, people from less affected communes such as Huoi Tu, Huu Kiem, Na Loi, Muong Long, Na Ngoi, Nam Can... have all come to help people in heavily flooded areas overcome the consequences. Each village and hamlet sent about 60 - 100 people in groups, walking from early morning to Muong Xen commune. Along the way, when encountering mud and obstacles, people also actively cleaned them up.

Mr. Ha Ba Ly - an official of Huoi Tu commune said that today, the militia, the Youth Union, the Women's Union, the 8th Youth Volunteer Corps and the officials and civil servants of Huoi Tu commune went down to help the people of Muong Xen commune overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 with a number of 50 people. From the officials to the people, everyone enthusiastically participated with the spirit of sharing and supporting each other in times of trouble.

Thanks to the spirit of solidarity and mutual support in times of trouble of our compatriots, along with the participation of local authorities and functional forces, it will help speed up the speed and effectiveness of overcoming flood damage, helping flooded families stabilize their lives soon.
Meanwhile, in more remote communes, people cook rice, wrap banh chung, and prepare food to send to flooded areas.
