(NLDO) - According to statistics during the 2025 Tet holiday, in Thanh Hoa, there were 27 cases of accidents caused by firecrackers and fireworks that required hospitalization, an increase of 50% over the same period.
According to the report of Thanh Hoa Provincial Department of Health , in 7 days (from December 27 to the 4th day of Tet), the whole province had nearly 19,000 patients coming to medical facilities for examination and treatment (an increase of 50.6% compared to 2024), of which 564 traffic accident patients were hospitalized (an increase of more than 45% compared to Tet 2024).
During the holiday, there were 27 cases in Thanh Hoa hospitalized due to firecracker accidents.
According to the department, during the Tet holiday, there were 27 cases of accidents caused by firecrackers and fireworks that required hospitalization, an increase of 50%. The number of hospitalizations due to food poisoning increased by more than 90%, with no serious or critical cases.
During the Tet holiday, the Department of Health organized 3 inspection teams to inspect 10 units in the industry. Through the inspection, 10/10 units all organized well the 24/24 emergency duty to examine and treat patients, had specific schedules for duty during the holidays, and at the same time prepared all the prescribed regimes and policies for patients during the Tet holiday.
Leaders of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Department of Health inspected the activities of the on-duty teams, met, visited, gave gifts, and encouraged and wished a happy New Year to seriously ill patients in the Emergency Resuscitation Department who were still staying in hospitals on New Year's Eve.
According to Thanh Hoa Provincial Police, during the 9-day Tet holiday, through patrol work, Thanh Hoa Provincial Traffic Police discovered and fined nearly 1,479 cases of violations of road traffic safety and order, fined more than 8.4 billion VND, revoked driving licenses, inspected 46 cases, and temporarily detained 595 violating vehicles. They fined 553 cases of alcohol concentration violations, with fines of nearly 2 billion VND.
Also according to Thanh Hoa Provincial Police, during the 9-day Tet holiday, traffic accidents decreased by 15 cases (45.5%), 4 deaths (28.57%) and 26 injuries (63.42%) compared to the same period in 2024.
