The total value of import and export of goods in the first 7 months of 2025 reached 514.72 billion USD (up 16.3%, equivalent to an increase of 72.27 billion USD over the same period last year).
Of which, export value reached 262.46 billion USD (up 14.8%, equivalent to an increase of 33.92 billion USD over the same period last year) and import value reached 252.26 billion USD (up 17.9%, equivalent to an increase of 38.35 billion USD over the same period last year).
Vietnam's trade balance of goods in the past 7 months had a surplus of 10.20 billion USD, down 30.3% compared to the surplus of 14.64 billion USD in the same period last year.

Also according to the Customs Department, state budget revenue from import and export activities in July 2025 reached VND 38,121 billion, down 2.7% compared to the previous month.
Cumulative revenue from January 1 to July 31, 2025 reached VND 261,376 billion, equal to 63.6% of the estimate, equal to 55.6% of the target, up 9.1% over the same period in 2024.

From June 15 to July 14, 2025, the Customs authority detected, arrested and handled 1,790 violations, an increase of 194 cases, equivalent to 11.7% over the same period last year; the value of infringing goods is estimated at VND 1,481 billion. State budget revenue reached VND 76.53 billion. The Customs authority prosecuted 2 cases (down 60%), and transferred 14 cases to other agencies (up 16.7%) over the same period last year.
Accumulated from December 15, 2024 to July 14, 2025, the Customs authority discovered, arrested and handled 10,351 cases; the value of infringing goods is estimated at VND 15,095 billion; the state budget revenue reached about VND 537.88 billion. The Customs authority prosecuted 10 cases and transferred 68 cases to other agencies for prosecution.
Regarding the fight against drugs, from December 15, 2024 to July 14, 2025, the Customs agency presided over and coordinated with the Police and Border Guard forces to detect and arrest 125 cases/152 subjects, of which the Customs agency presided over 54 cases.
Evidence seized was about 2.1 tons of various drugs.
