Updating the progress of the implementation of the two Ho Chi Minh Road projects, Rach Soi - Ben Nhat and Go Quao - Vinh Thuan, the Department of Construction Investment Management ( Ministry of Transport ) said that as of early July 2024, after 4 months of construction, Kien Giang province has handed over more than 8km of land (reaching more than 18%) on the right side of the route that coincides with National Highway 61. However, the technical infrastructure system has not been relocated.
Machinery was mobilized by the contractor to serve the construction of the Ho Chi Minh road project, Cho Chu - Trung Son intersection section.
"Within the area of the handed over site, contractors have organized construction, the total construction output of the project has reached more than 2%, about 1.9% behind schedule due to site clearance problems, lack of foundation materials, and contractors have not focused on constructing the bridge section (at bridge locations that are not site clearance problems)," the Department of Construction Investment Management informed.
According to this unit, to ensure the progress of project implementation, the Ministry of Transport has sent a document requesting the People's Committee of Kien Giang province to support the acceleration of site clearance work and direct the contractor to work with localities to implement procedures for exploiting materials (river sand and sea sand), promptly supplying the project.
Regarding the Ho Chi Minh Road project, the Cho Chu - Trung Son Intersection section, which started construction on May 30, 2024, according to the Department of Construction Investment Management, by early July, the land had been handed over to the project for 2.5km (nearly 9%) in Thai Nguyen province. The land passing through Tuyen Quang province has not been handed over.
"Currently, contractors are mobilizing machinery, equipment, and human resources to prepare for construction. The Ministry of Transport has requested the investor to closely coordinate with the Land Acquisition Council of Thai Nguyen and Tuyen Quang provinces to speed up the measurement, counting, and compensation plan for land acquisition, forest conversion, and rice land conversion," the specialized management unit of the Ministry of Transport informed.
