From around 6pm on September 2, Hoan Kiem Lake, the centre of holiday festivities in Hanoi , began to become crowded. Here, people eagerly took photos at the National Day-themed miniatures that the city had set up while waiting for the fireworks display.

To serve the entertainment needs of the people and tourists , at the newly renovated Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, the city brings to the public an art program called "80 years - Pride of Vietnam".

With the participation of famous artists, professional art units, hundreds of extras and art students, the performances inspired the revolutionary spirit, praised Uncle Ho, praised love, homeland and country..., the Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square stage was packed, with thousands of people gathering to join in the jubilant atmosphere of the big festival.

To celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day, Hanoi organized 6 fireworks displays in 5 areas, in addition to Hoan Kiem Lake, the fireworks display spaces include: West Lake, My Dinh Stadium, Thong Nhat Park and Van Quan Lake. Each display mobilized about 600 high-altitude fireworks and 90 low-altitude fireworks, performing for 15 minutes.

At these locations, the city organizes many special art programs.

By the windy West Lake, the audience enjoyed the special art program "Immortal Epic" at the outdoor stage of Lac Long Quan Flower Garden, in Tay Ho ward.

The program is hosted by Hanoi Cheo Theater in coordination with departments and Tay Ho Ward People's Committee. The highlight of the program is the traditional Cheo art harmoniously combined with modern music and dance, depicting the spirit of indomitable struggle and the aspiration for independence and freedom of the nation.

Meanwhile, the My Dinh National Stadium area was lit up with performances in the music night “Under the Golden Star” taking place from 7:30 p.m., organized by Thang Long Music and Dance Theater in coordination with agencies and units. The program was organized with the message: “A strip of flag - Million drops of blood - Million hearts” to arouse patriotism, national pride and connect the heroic past with today's young generation.

At the same time, by Van Quan Lake (Ha Dong Ward), songs and singing also resounded in an art program hosted by the Hanoi Drama Theater, in coordination with the city's art units, combining various forms of singing, dancing, music and drama to depict the heroic feats and aspirations for independence and prosperity of the nation.

Just like at Hoan Kiem Lake, since the city lights up, Hanoians and tourists have flocked to the above locations, waiting for the fireworks display to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day.

At exactly 9:00 p.m., six fireworks displays simultaneously lit up the Hanoi sky, bringing excitement and joy to the people of the capital.

From Ninh Binh, present in Hanoi to welcome the September 2nd anniversary activities, Mr. Le Thanh Hai said: “Today is a wonderful day. Before the ceremony took place, many people were worried because the weather might not be favorable. But in the end, the weather was cool all day. My family and I watched the parade, marching and tonight we watched the fireworks under the sky of the capital. The feelings of emotion and pride will stay with me forever and I believe that the 80th anniversary is an important milestone, marking the country's readiness to enter a new era, an era of growing stronger”.
