The exhibition introduces to the public a series of rare memorabilia associated with the life and career of Charlie Chaplin - the great "king of clowns" of world cinema. The artifacts come from the personal collection of Australian collector Paddy MacDonald, who spent many years collecting artifacts in Australia, the US, Ireland, France, Cuba...

The exhibition is located in the hotel’s Heritage Wing and Opera Wing, and will run until July 22. Among the highlights are vintage movie posters, original music from the last century, and especially the cover of TIME Magazine on July 6, 1925 – the first issue to feature an actor on the front page of the most influential publication in the United States.

“This is the first time that part of Mr. MacDonald’s precious collection has been exhibited in Asia. We are extremely honored to have this as the next stop on this journey. One of the suites in our Heritage Wing is named after Charlie Chaplin and this exhibition is a tribute to that meaningful connection,” said George Koumendakos, General Manager of the hotel.
The Charlie Chaplin Suite is located on the 3rd floor of the Heritage Wing, newly renovated in late 2023 with natural wood floors, hand-woven carpets and antique French-style furniture. The room also has a balcony overlooking the Toad Garden, providing a romantic and private space true to the spirit of the talented artist.
