According to Google, the company's cloud infrastructure and data centers in Bangkok and Chonburi province (Thailand) will help meet the growing demand for Google Cloud capabilities and AI innovations, as well as the company's popular digital services such as search, maps and Google Workspace.

Google's data center will be located in an industrial park in Chonburi, while its cloud operations, which include hardware and software that provide services to private and public sector organizations, will be located in the capital Bangkok.

Microsoft chooses Thailand for first regional data center

Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra said Google's investment is "fully consistent" with the country's cloud-first policy. On the same day, Paetongtarn met with Alphabet's chief investment officer Ruth Porat to discuss cooperation in the technology sector.

In May 2024, US technology corporation Microsoft said it would open its first regional data center in Thailand as part of its efforts to promote cloud services.
