In the communes of Tien Yen, Dien Xa, Dong Ngu, there are 17 ethnic groups living together, of which ethnic minorities account for 52%, cultural colors are preserved and promoted in the communities of Tay, Dao, San Diu, San Chi... To preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of ethnic groups in the area, especially for children, the communes have directed schools with many ethnic minority students to propagate and mobilize parents to sew ethnic costumes for their children to go to school; schools coordinate with organizations to organize extracurricular activities such as teaching singing and music, sewing and embroidering uniforms, in order to maintain the cultural features of ethnic groups from being lost.
Teacher Ha Thi Lien, Principal of Phong Du Kindergarten (Tien Yen Commune), said: The school has 90% ethnic minority students, the majority of whom are Tay ethnic people. To promote the preservation and promotion of traditional cultural values of the Tay ethnic people to students, the school built a stilt house to display typical artifacts of ethnic people; at the same time, teachers were sent to artisans to learn, then return to teach students. During festivals, the school allows students to participate in and experience festival activities. Through this, students feel proud of their ethnicity and try hard to study well to become useful citizens for society.
Dien Xa commune has a large number of ethnic minorities, mainly the San Chay ethnic group. Soong co is a type of folk song that has been preserved by the people for many generations, becoming an indispensable spiritual food in the cultural life of the people here. To preserve and promote the folk songs of the San Chay ethnic group, every year the Commune Youth Union coordinates with artisans to open summer talent classes to teach Soong co singing to children in the area. Later, these children became active members participating in the school's cultural and sports activities, performing in local festivals. Thereby contributing to the preservation of a valuable spiritual and cultural heritage, expressing the fine traditions and unique identity of the San Chay ethnic group.
Together with all levels, sectors, localities, the provincial women's union at all levels has promoted propaganda, education , and raised awareness for cadres, members, and people about the values of traditional culture. Up to now, the province has established 23 women's clubs on preserving, promoting, and maintaining traditional cultural heritages, attracting 1,000 members and women to participate, including the effectiveness of the clubs: Embroidery and sewing patterns of Dao Thanh Phan ethnic costumes; Sewing Dao Thanh Y ethnic costumes; Intergenerational ethnic women preserving and promoting traditional costumes; Then singing; Tinh lute; Folk songs...
