Accordingly, on July 26, 1960, President Ho Chi Minh signed the Decree promulgating the Law on the Organization of the People's Procuracy, marking the birth of the People's Procuracy sector in the State apparatus. In 2004, the Lai Chau Provincial People's Procuracy was established under Decision No. 21/2004/QD-TCCB, dated January 12, 2004 of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy on the basis of separating the Lai Chau Provincial People's Procuracy (old) into the Lai Chau Provincial People's Procuracy and the Dien Bien Provincial People's Procuracy.

After more than 6 decades of the People's Procuracy, especially after more than 20 years of separation and establishment, the Lai Chau Procuracy has grown steadily, becoming a loyal, dedicated, brave, and steadfast force in its assigned political tasks. Generations of procuracy officers have constantly trained their moral qualities, improved their professional skills, and followed the teachings of President Ho Chi Minh. Procuracy officers must be: "Fair, upright, objective, cautious, and modest". The annual work results have always met and exceeded the targets assigned by the industry; Party building and industry building have achieved many positive results. The provincial People's Procuracy has been honored to have many collectives and individuals awarded noble titles and awards. Typically, 1 individual was awarded the Second Class Labor Medal, 5 individuals were awarded the Third Class Labor Medal; 13 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Prime Minister; 2 individuals were awarded the title of National Emulation Fighter.
