Students of the Faculty of Agriculture - Forestry - Fisheries during practice and experiment hours.
To improve the quality of training for students in 6 majors including: Agricultural Economics , Animal Science, Crop Science, Forestry, Land Management and Agronomy, in addition to applying information technology and AI technology in teaching, the Faculty of Agriculture - Forestry - Fisheries always requires each lecturer to combine theory with practice for each subject, especially specialized subjects. Dr. Le Dinh Chac, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Agriculture - Forestry - Fisheries, Hong Duc University, said: “All lecture halls and classrooms of the faculty are currently equipped with projectors, smart TVs and necessary equipment for the goal of innovating training methods and programs. Along with that, 100% of the faculty's training courses have also completed the construction of lectures and teaching on the LMS learning management software system, helping to connect learners, lecturers and convey training content flexibly and effectively. In particular, during the training process, the school has invested in the faculty 4 laboratories with hundreds of equipment, including many modern equipment such as: PCR machine, electrophoresis machine, HPCL machine used to analyze the components in nutrients... This is an important basis for the faculty to realize the goal of improving quality, linking theory with practice in the training process according to the requirements of the school as well as the education program".
Without practice and experiments, all knowledge in books is just theory, so when building the training program, in addition to innovating the content and program according to trends and social needs, each specialized subject of the Faculty of Agriculture - Forestry - Fisheries has 3 parts: Theory, practice and discussion. From this structure, in addition to accessing knowledge in the classroom and through studying learning materials, students of the faculty will practice regularly in laboratories. Thereby helping them practice practical skills, creating interest in research, passion for discovery , creativity and applying the knowledge learned into practice. Student Trinh Dinh Duong, class 27, majoring in Animal Husbandry - Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Agriculture - Forestry - Fisheries shared: "During the learning process, we have regular access to laboratories, especially specialized subjects. This activity gives us a clearer perspective on the role of the subject and the potential application of the subject in practice".
According to Dr. Hoang Dinh Hai, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, in addition to the orientation hours for students in the classroom, in order for them to clearly understand the problems, lesson content as well as put theory into practice, practical activities and experiments are indispensable. Currently, the faculty has up to 12 laboratories of different majors, including 4 Physics laboratories, 4 Chemistry laboratories, 4 Biology laboratories. Investing in laboratories not only contributes to improving the quality of training, meeting the requirements ofeducational innovation, but is also an important condition for both staff, lecturers and students of the faculty to effectively carry out scientific topics.
Evidence shows that, from the use of laboratory equipment, the faculty's staff, lecturers and students have successfully researched and implemented many scientific topics at all levels such as: National-level scientific topic "Dispersion technique and supercontinuum emission in photonic crystal fibers filled with highly nonlinear liquids" by Dr. Le Van Hieu. This topic won the Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award in 2024. Or the provincial-level scientific topic "Research on the production process of water-based paint systems using fly ash discharged from Nghi Son 1 Thermal Power Plant in Thanh Hoa province to increase the ability to resist water and alkali" by Dr. Hoang Thi Huong Thuy; Ministry-level scientific topic "Developing integrated teaching capacity for high school Biology teachers in Thanh Hoa province" by Dr. Le Thi Huyen. For students with outstanding topics such as: Topic "Research on the design of photonic crystal fiber structures made from chalcogenide for application to supercontinuum light sources in the mid-infrared region" by the group of students Tran Hong Tham, Nguyen Tra My, K23, University of High-Quality Physics Education; Topic "Research on species diversity in the Sciaenidae family in estuaries and coastal areas of Thanh Hoa province" by the group of students Nguyen Thi Huyen Trang, Pham Thi Linh, Dong Thuy Dung, K25, University of Biology Education and Le Thu Huyen, K25, University of Natural Sciences Education...
Training students to become high-quality human resources according to national standards, capable of adapting to the diversity and continuous development of the labor market is always the requirement and goal set by Hong Duc University. Therefore, along with promoting the spirit of initiative and creativity in teaching and learning of the staff, lecturers and students, Hong Duc University determines to continue to increase investment resources in facilities in general, and laboratories in training majors in particular, in order to create the best conditions for staff, lecturers and students to fully develop their capacity in teaching, learning and scientific research.
