This is a key and urgent project invested by Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), assigned by the Prime Minister to complete and energize in August 2025 to ensure electricity supply for the Northern region.
The project is nearly 230 km long, including 468 column foundation locations and 242 anchorages along the route corridor. Currently, the remaining construction volume is very large, while the completion time is urgent.
The project also continuously encountered difficulties due to rainy and flood weather, affecting the progress. In this situation, implementing the direction of Vietnam Electricity Group, EVNNPT mobilized additional engineers and workers from transmission units in the Corporation to focus on constructing poles at assigned locations.
As the unit mobilizing the most forces, Power Transmission Company 1 (PTC1) has established 15 working groups with more than 400 engineers and workers from all affiliated power transmission teams.
Mr. Hoang Xuan Khoi, Deputy Director of PTC1 said: "Clearly identifying the urgency and strategic significance of the project for national energy security, PTC1 has mobilized maximum forces, ready to coordinate the implementation of pole erection and wire pulling."
Currently, 5 teams of PTC1 have approached the construction sites and started working. The remaining teams are urgently leveling the access roads, gathering equipment at the foot of the poles to prepare for pole erection in the coming days.
Mr. Hoang Xuan Khoi added: Before organizing the deployment to support the 500kV Lao Cai - Vinh Yen transmission line project, the leaders of PTC1 met, encouraged and required the Team to complete the task with the highest determination. Before leaving, the teams calculated the detailed construction scenarios, anticipated objective and subjective difficulties, and proposed comprehensive and detailed solutions for the 15 teams, with the goal of completing the task in the best way possible.

Along with PTC1, Power Transmission Company 2 (PTC2) mobilized 3 teams of 72 technical staff, workers and drivers to participate in construction at locations 106, 111, 116 in Minh Chuan commune, Lao Cai province.
Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang, Head of PTC2 Technical Department, shared: The terrain of this area is rugged and mountainous, the access road is difficult, so the work of transporting materials, tools, construction equipment, and moving equipment takes a lot of time and effort.
"However, with our available experience and high determination, we will complete the task well," affirmed a representative of PTC2.

Power Transmission Company 3 (PTC3) also sent 3 working groups with more than 90 engineers and workers to the site at locations 141, 142, 149 in Minh Xuan commune, Lao Cai province. Before leaving, the Board of Directors of PTC3 held a meeting, encouraged the spirit and required the teams to fully prepare materials and construction machinery; at the same time, developed an implementation plan and organized strict supervision to ensure quality, progress and labor safety.
Mr. Huynh Quang Thinh, Head of PTC3 Technical Department said: This is an area with difficult construction conditions, the main pole positions are on the mountain, this area is in the rainy season. After receiving instructions from EVN and EVNNPT, the unit promptly established a shock team to support the project construction.
"Despite difficult construction conditions, the entire unit has the highest determination, making efforts to overcome difficulties and challenges to immediately start work upon arriving at the location, with the determination to complete the assigned tasks to bring the project to the finish line," said a representative of PTC3.
The remaining time to complete the project is very short, while the weather conditions are complicated, with unpredictable rain and sunshine. The National Power Transmission Corporation has requested the teams to concentrate highly, strictly comply with safety regulations during construction, and ensure quality and progress according to the instructions of EVN and the Prime Minister.
With a high sense of responsibility, solidarity and determination to overcome difficulties, nearly 600 engineers and workers of EVNNPT are working hard at the construction site. Each erected electric pole is not only a construction item, but also a testament to the will and aspiration to contribute to the electricity of the Fatherland. This is the collective strength, joining hands with EVN to bring the 500kV Lao Cai - Vinh Yen transmission line project to the finish line on time.
